Rad...where do you find this stuff :haha: :lol2: :haha: :lol2:

I like that there is minimal badging on the FJR and it can't be identified easily. And being called a BMW is not really a bad thing. Just smile and say, it's an FJR by Yamaha, that usually starts up a nice conversation.
Hey Toecutter I agree with you on the FJ-40 thing I have a 77 fj-40 and 82 fj-60 and when they say "nice JEEP" I just say thanks it's not worth correcting them.

I was up there on Saturday. Way to many do-rags for me :p Lots of wingers, and a mix of everything else. Did you see the goldwing trike inside?? Only $37,000. clams.... smitty

Sorry, I missed you Smitty, yea I saw the trike, but I was more impressed by the "landing gear".

Ah yes, '77 was a fine vintage. Mine was a '71, but I added a TBI 350/SM420 combo and power front discs to make it go good and stop in a straight line. Sold it to a buddy 7/03 and I can still drive it and work on it whenever I want. Never owned a 60 but coveted many. I still have my '93 FZJ80 though, for family camping trips and such....

Is BMW now a generic term for Sport Touring mc's? Kinda like KLEENEX?

You'd think folks would realize that if it didn't have that little blue and white badge on it, it wouldn't be a bimmer or beemer.

What's funny is when I'm standing there with a YAMAHA jacket on. Of course I have also been know to wear a 100th anniversary Harley jacket while riding the FJR. I do get some strange looks. More than normal. Maybe I should get a BMW shirt or jacket, just to REALLY screw with 'em?

I don't even correct anyone any more, unles they specifically ask. I just go with the flow. However if they ask me what kind of YAMAHA it is, then I usually bend their ear.

Funny, I have a 86 FJ1200 and I get a lot of "Nice Ninja...."

 Well I just got my fjr 5 days ago and just after droping a line on this post I stopped at a store walked in and the guy asks "IS THAT A HARLEY" Yea it's a yamadavidson it's new do you like it. So far this bike is a blast I don't think my tire's will last long.

"IS THAT A HARLEY" Yea it's a yamadavidson - cartfj40

<lol> .... Good one. I tend to use 'Yamahog' when I ride my Roadstar. You want to talk Harley confusion for the masses, the Roadstar is it. Had even some Hog posers step their foot in it which is always a fun sight to see <lol>.
