I just talked to her. We are tentative at this point. That means probably because we missed Occidental and that was a bummer!
I thought that meant that your were camping?

Anyone mind a Beeemer rider tagging along? Assuming he can make it thriough his honey-do list.
I believe the ride is open to anyone who wants to show up, regardless of what bike.

I'm hoping Mrs OrangevaleFJR would be along to snap some of the awesome views that Saturday will offer? B)

Well I hope you guys show up as we need lots of moving shots! If you enjoy green, there's plenty of it.

The local forcast for Saturday is showing for some sun with a hi of 66 and a low of 44.

At this point being as there has been a lot of rain lately, it may come down to what it looks like outside late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

I'll ride all day in cloudy conditions, but will pass on a wet/rainy hwy49.

My built in weather-o-meter still says that Saturday will not bring rain.

If it comes down to the wire here, who has to ride farthest and at what time are you planning on leaving in the am?

It'll either be Tinker, coming from Berkeley or Bluestreek, coming from Marysville (He could turn around at breakfast in Elk Grove).

SilveradoSlick and The Managers are in the foothills East of me. I haven't heard of anyone coming from the wine country.

+1 on not riding Hwy 49 in the rain. The current forecast on one of my websites shows rain showers on Saturday (as does the TV weatherman), though cloudy on Thurs and Fri, so at least I could ride it to work. :D

IF we put this off, when is the next window of opportunity? Yep, a bit premature, but I still think it should be rescheduled if we miss it.

For now lets not go there, but just in case I'm pretty much open except for the weekend of May 6 (SS1K ride)

Hmmm, 4/22 is lookin' good for some reason. Hey, why take chances with all those raindrops around? ;)

Been watching the weather everytings shows rain and continuing thru monday.

I do not mind riding in all kinds of weather when it happens when you are already out and it turns fooul.

I agree with toecutter there will be more chances why put ones self in harms way and have limited fun. When we could do the same thing and have more fun and be safer by re- scheduling.

For me I will sit this one out and hope it is re scheduled at a later date.

I err on the side of safety... weekend rider

If the ride takes place everyone have a safe and good time :cownoy:

Well, I'm not ready to "throw in the towel" yet. There is always a possibility of "cloudy". Really, we will have to wait until Friday's weather report as the shortest possible forecast will be the most accurate. However, I am making alternative plans........that do not include riding the bike. ;)

Don't forget that I found out the hard way that the definition of showers up in them parts is defined as any rain falling at a rate of 10" and hour or less... ;)

I also have made for other plans in case it rains. I will be studing for a test that I will be taking on Wednesday for the state of ca.

Now, here is where I need a little help and it has to do with riding also.

I have just purchased a new helmet and I want to have some graphics painted on it. I have found only one person on the web from sacramento that does what I need done. I need some one that does art work and that uses airbrush for painting helmets. If anyone knows of someone in the sacramento area would you please post so I have some options for choice. thanks weekend rider

I hope it's not a spelling test. ;) Or was that supposed to be "Studding"? Great gig if you can get it.

I have a buddy here in Fresno that used to paint helmets. If you get desperate I could check and see if he still does it. I doubt it, as now he mostly builds race cars.

Correct that was a huge error on my part for spelling. The test does not have a spelling section, thank goodness. But if I was going into studing, I should have tried years ago and not waited so long..... :haha:

Thanks for the info

Doh! Rain dance halted, hopefully soon enough. Eve's up for a ride on 4/22, as long as it doesn't involve Hwy 49. So, hopefully y'alls ride goes off as planned this Saturday and ours does as well on the 22nd (Airline Hwy north->Hwy 1 south). :D

Saturday shows AM showers, a break and the night time showers. Since these things are always wrong...I'm thinking there's gonna be some riding weather sometime that day. Unfortunately I do have to make a 6:30 dinner so I have to be careful about how far I get away from O'vale

Say hey clan. As of this moment you are comanded to cease and desist all negitive vibe (interperet as rain producing vibes) reinforcing activity including but not limited to thinking wet thoughts and bathing! Stop it now! I'm really looking foreward to this Sat. and ya'll are fluding th energy space with very bad, very wet thinking. :dribble:

Rant suppended, but only suspened and building pressure, only a long ride will make the world safe again.

I expect to leave Berkeley at 06:00. Citizen Garmin informs me the ride will take aprox. 1:57 and cover about 120 miles. That should provide time for relief, fuel and caffine at Jacksonville.

(positive thought)

SEE YOU THERE

Negative Vibes!! Negative Vibes!! Tinker, don't read this!

If it is raining, I ain't leavin' the garage. Rain in the foothills is not likely to dry in the valleys, switchbacks and shadows of Hwy 49 and the other roads, and I'm a chicken (see my signature line, I had an '04 commit suicide on Hwy 49). Skyway and I had a lovely ride on Hwy 26 earlier this Winter...uhm, pine needles, wet corners, downed trees, etc., etc. I enjoyed the ride but have no burning desire for a repeat.

Since I'd have to leave here by 0630 or so just to make Jamestown, and it's supposed to rain in the morning....I'd say it is looking like 80/20 for me not riding. YMMV.

Bluestreek, what'cha think?

Unless it's er, uh, oh never mind. ;)

I already gave the gods permission to halt the inclement weather activity. Now if some of you will promise to attend my ride on the 22nd, I think we can get this deal signed. ;)

The latest forecast is morning showers here but dry in the area of the ride.  Guess I'll ride if it's not raining or just barely pissing.
Charles, I will be there tommorrow, I don't think the weather is going to rain us out.

vectervp1 has no choice in the matter. :haha:

At this point I plan on meeting MM2 In E.G. in the AM. IF its Raining hard :( in the morning I will cancel and give MM2 a call. I have nothing but positive thoughts for this ride and feel the rain will end in the early AM. :)

Should we tell Tinker that we are meeting Jamestown and not Jacksonville?

Hey Blue haze. :) Go easy on the geography dissertation. I'm a native sooooo I'm not obligated to correctly spell or know where the bergs that make up my home state are. ;) I'll be there. Jamestown, Jacksonville, Lancaster, Inglewood or where ever. Really looking foreward to this day.

Later all. Having fun is so much, well FUN
