Quick question. I've got 2 interesting ones not that far from me. Do you want novelty? Or some thing out of the wild west? Sort of like a choose your own adventure, only I'll be the one on the ride :)

Double grab!

And now for the tag: Your bike in front of a UFO crash site. Please provide a link to the crash's story

Bonus cash for a really obscure or unknown one.

I'm not seeing any of the pics, just an "oops! Your image was linked incorrectly, please visit your account for the correct link."

Crash site? Why not just a normal landing?

Got one with the saucer still on the ground not too far from me. Another one with the saucer on the tow truck that's a bit farther away, but still day ride-able.

An actual landing? I'd accept that

And I think photobucket is having some trouble, I was seeing that 'oops!' image all over people's sigs too. Ctrl-F5 every once in a while worked. I tried using Google+ images, but the forum didn't like those links. Will see if I can find a different host...

But only for 2 weeks, I suspect. No mention of subscriptions at smugmug when I signed up, but then I get an e-mail congratulating me on starting my 14 day trial and suggesting I subscribe if I like it. Looking at their options, there is no free version available. Oh well, moving on to another host that doesn't even require signing in. Hopefully that will work just as well.

It was either that or a dead religious founder's home. Seriously though, how many L Ron Hubbards can be out there?

Nice way to kill a Tag. I'm going to call a foul. The rules state:

* Try to place the tags in interesting locations, objects or places that could probably be found in at least the majority of the continent.
3. Tag must be: a) Common amongst North America &

not placed on a trail or seasonal road. Dirt is ok, but remember some of us are on street bikes.
* Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.
a UFO crash site...seriously? Cleaver tag, but let's get real here. The purpose of this game is to make a reasonably easy tag to replicate anywhere in the country.

Phil went right where I was expecting more of you to go. A little bit of research for ride planning can be fun, and I'm sure there are some creative types out there who will figure out a way to make the grab. If you aren't up to the challenge, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to change it.

Then again, the 'tunnel or cave' tag was active for 3 weeks before someone made the grab, so who knows... Not trying to insult anyone, but not even a day in and without apparently trying to see what's in their area and folks are complaining? Sad...JSNS

I do agree with this statement. That said, I like to think we reward outside the box thinking. This tag has a bit of frivolity to it, and I would expect significant leeway in accepting a grab that might lack documentation, or one with questionable basis, but with a reasonable amount of tongue in cheek/creativity displayed with the picture. I've seen some pretty convincing UFO pics that involved little more than fishing line and random parts hanging in the air w/o scale... JSNS.

No don't change it. The idea of the game should be that the tag is available in any part of the country (or world), not that is easy. If it doesn't require at least a little bit of thought and/or searching it would get to be a pretty boring game.

I already knew of a UFO incident that (reportedly) took place up in the white mountains of NH back in the early 60's. Heck they even made a movie about it. The Barney and Betty Hill Incident. It's a nice couple of hours ride from here and the temps are dropping back to spring like later today.

TominPA, actually just ride over to Mars,PA and take a picture of the flying saucer the town has on display. I'm not sure of it's current location but I rode over to get a picture of it 2 or 3 years ago just because I thought it was cool. I understand the town moves it periodically but I'm sure a local will point you in the right direction.

Gee, do I ride to Kecksburg or Mars? Who woulda figgured I live in UFO central.

Looks like I complained without searching first. I had no idea aliens are everywhere. I should have known after hanging out herel

I had already seen Kecksburg, and I just looked at Mars. Seems both are in the neighborhood of a 4 hour ride each way. Do-able, if it wasn't for that inconvenient institution that requires my presence in return for a weekly allowance.

I know you no longer have that problem Tom.

I wanna see your bike in front of what may be just a bit more fun to pilot than the bike itself.
