Odd question - is there a way to heat your topbox?

My wife made up a couple of small pillows filled with FIELD CORN. 2 min in a microwave, and you get over an hr of warmth. She saw this in one of her crafty magazines. She makes them for Christmas presents. I toss one in my jacket when it's real cold.
We fill a tube sock with rice and sew the end shut, then microwave it. Makes a good toe-warmer on cold nights, should do a good job keeping a clarinet warm.

Put rice in a old sock and heat it up in the microwave, it creates a heating device that maintains it heat and will not put any strain on your electrical system. Between the rice sock and insulation, you should be fine.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW - Thank you for your service.
