GalaxyBlue, how about a 9:30am meet up in Camp Verde at Starbucks Coffee, 1620 W. State Rte 260 or .......? It is right off I-17

Anybody else?
Ed and Adam, Ill make sure Big Dan Compton and marcusorelius / Duchess know about this. They will be coming from your direction, Seth and I are riding the Southern route to hook up with Joe and Cec in Tucson. I'll have 8 AZ Beemers riding Kraut Krap in my group, same folks you have both met before at Wikieup and Sedona, Arizona.
As of now, I will be spending the night either in Gilbert or Cottonwood, so making Starbucks will be an easy task.

I just changed my Single King to a Double Queen room. So that frees up a single king room if anyone is interested.
Big-D, Patch308 and GalaxyBlue just may be interested in that! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Arriba ai!
The things we do for a little PoPo protection!

Protection? Wasn't you the popo wanted to treat you like Otis Campbell on your escape with Andy & Barney (we don't need no stinking badges) for going 110 in a school zone? Thats as safe as using a collander for a condom.

Joe lives so close to Silver City, he'll just walk there! Maybe we can stop and say hi to cliff!

Went on a 130 miles dirt bike ride last weekend and crashed three times. The previous weekend we only rode 57 miles of desert and didn'y crash at all. But the weekend before that we rode about 35 miles and I crashed three times, once was a hard painful fall. Now I have a bad shoulder, back and a blown kidney. Damn this dirt riding is a blast!!

Big-D, your Yamaha WR450F looks fantastic! What size fuel tank on it? Dirt crashes definitely do hurt, especially the older we get! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

It was not a school zone, And not 110. It was a 45 zone at about 80. ;)

Hey, is that Pot calling the Kettle Black? Lets all meet up at the hoosegow!

HOOSEGOW:
Calabozo; Jail; from Spanish. "juzgado"
There were six drunks in the cell when I was in the hoosegow last weekend. And I think those six plus many more are all heading to Silver City, NM

Tucson Joe just spoke to Eric, the Manager of the Econolodge in Silver City, New Mexico; there are still eight King non-smoking rooms left for SW-FOG 2014!

Tucson Joe has stepped forward to be our Hotel coordinator and he has already done a fantastic job: Jose has already negotiated a $20 nightly discount for our rooms. Great job, Joe!

"Don, Talked to Eric and we have a special rate of $79.99 per night. I told him to hold approx. 30 rooms. He will not hold my VISA to this. It is under SW-FOG. This includes a continental breakfast. Also, he did not want my credit card to hold anything. Rooms are normally $99.99 a night at the Silver City, NM Econo Lodge. Hope this works. JSNS"

https://www.econolodgesilvercity.com Call Local #: (575) 534-1111 directly. Ask for Eric or Zach and you must mention SW-FOG for your FJR Forum discount!

FYI. The fellow I talked to the other day said there was only one 2 queen room left when I booked. Just called Eric and switched it for a king room so I assume the 2 queen is available again.

Pat, Thanks!

I rode over to Lakeside on hwy 260 a couple weeks ago, with MsNASCAR, to get a feel of the road and other important issues. I did locate 2 set of speed cameras in 2 towns, one each Ka band and laser also in the towns. The open roads were clear of static, so expect smooth sailing for the ride over from Camp Verde. We did hit rain in Lakeside and the skies were growing darker so we turned around at that point.

If any other riders want to meet us at the Starbucks in Camp Verde for the ride to Silver City, please do, or if you are coming up from the valley floor (PHX area) you could take a great road up Rte 87 and meet us in Payson instead. Post up if interested.

Enough with the suspense SW-FOG organizers:

What are the rides (besides 191) and what are the dinner plans.

I can see the meals being tentative, but the rides should be a no-brainer.

It sounds like Pegscraper is getting as excited about this ride as I am. Its been awfully quite on this thread and I don't have anything intelligent to add, although that has never stopped me from speaking up before. Its going to be a long 45 days waiting for my departure from ND.

Come on May 28th.

I take that back. I'm pretty sure I'm more excited. Pegscraper in bound to have more than 1 mile on his FJR for the year.

I am really excited to see my old friends and make new ones! It's been too long.

My FJR has developed a rough idle, Most likely caused by my aging Audiovox CC and vacuum leaks. My friend Dan and I are going to tear into it tomorrow for a little pre trip maintenance! :good:
