https://www.sw-fog.com SW-FOG Guest List; 34 Bikes / 40 People so far! Only 38 Days until SW-FOG '14.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are coming to Silver City, New Mexico via Interstates 5 and 10 you are warmly welcome to stay a night coming or going at Casa de Stanley.

There is a Guest Bedroom that can sleep a couple and two sofas that can sleep one person each, plus my BarcaLounger that I fall asleep on nightly watching TV!

Thursday morning a group of Beemers and FJR's are leaving Chandler at 0800 hours, at 1000 stopping in Tucson to meet some FJR riders coming from San Diego.
Just a BUMP REMINDER, after seeing Abercrombie and ZBears Northern Approach to SW-FOG 2014, there are also two Western Approaches going to Silver City.

BeemerDonS is leading an I-10 route via Lordsburg, NM and pegscraper Ed is leading his group over the Mogollon Rim route. Post up if want to join either group!

As an added incentive to the Interstate Ten passage, the beautiful Canadian Redhead MaryEllen MEM is in that group; however, pegscraper Ed is so very handsome!

I'd better get at that Redhead business between now and then

(As usual, Papa, you're too generous with your praise  )

Ok, Abercrombie FJR I could meet in Poncha Springs But am wondering if your route South is. May be I could meet you in Pagosa Springs if you go that way. Just thinkin?

Pagosa Springs looks good also and might work. It looks like 285 turns straight after alamosa so It might not be a bad idea to take 160 into Pagoda Springs and 84 South. It looks like it adds a few more miles but a lot more curves. Maybe Silver Streak will be by with some input on meeting up with you soon but it sure looks like taking 160 into and 84 out of Pagosa Springs would make it worth getting off 285 for awhile.

Well Abercrombie that sounds like fun. I could also meet in Alamosa without going too far straight East. I don't know where you guys plan on going West to get down to Silver City but that might be a good place to meet also But Alamosa or Pagosa Springs works for me Just glad to have someone riding shotgun.

Thanks AJ, Indeed my original order through Cynthia was lost but Brenda has confirmed my new order.

She did hint that your instructions for the shirts were a bit weird but she said she never argues with the customer.

Can't wait to get my Cilver Sity SW-FOG shirt.

Did you know if you take a common cotton T-shirt, pee on it, and roll it very tightly, you can beat someone to death with it? JSNS!

My shirt was ordered and credit card billed on the 8th by Brenda. I should be one of the five.
Caveat emptor: Papa Chuy Viejo can make no guarantees that 'Zilla won't rub his sweaty balls on your shirt, that is completely out of my control ese! JSNS!

I see it's been a week since the last "in the gutter" post and it is now the month of May, when 4 weeks from today we will be riding the roads to Silver City. Just a reminder for those who been sitting idle lately to do a MC check and get some riding in for this rally and some challenging roads.

For those who haven't read the "PACE" and those who have, it would be a good idea to re-read again. I know I need to review it from time-to-time.

Well boys and girls, I was gonna head to SC this weekend just to check things out. What's good for us is Radiummadman rode all the roads surrounding SC last weekend and reported that they are in very good shape. So, there should be some fun.

Work is cutting into my ability to ride there this weekend, but it kind of saved my butt. This week is the "Tour of the Gila" bike race. This is like a mini Tour DeFrance, and is actually used as a training ride for many of the teams that go to France. Well, it is Spring in NM, which means it is a windy bitch. I hate spring here.

Anyway, yesterday, there was an 80...Yes, EIGHTY bicycle pile up on NM180, north of SC. The bikes were approx. 20 miles from the finish line and were on a downhill stretch running close to 45mph. They were bunched up as bicycle races get. A huge gust of wind blew across the road and blew the bikes into each other. The resulting crash was pretty bad. A couple people were air-lifted to Tucson and 25 of them were taken to the ER in Silver City with everything from broken bones to road rash. Probably a couple hundred thousand in damage to bicycles. Not cool...

Glad we're not there this weekend, and really glad I can't go down there. I would hate to end up behind that. Besides, the entire NM State Police motorcycle unit is down there, so it would be a great weekend to get some performace awards.

Wind and bikes should be mostly gone by the 29th...

AJ, that was a close call, missing that cluster-**** of a major bicycle crash. I never would want to be caught behind a large group of bicyclist unless . . .

My Doctors told me today I will not be recovered enough to make the long ride to Silver City.

I have canceled my single room if any body needs one.

Old age SUCKS!
