My Doctors told me today I will not be recovered enough to make the long ride to Silver City.
I have canceled my single room if any body needs one.

Old age SUCKS!

Regret you can't make it. I've enjoyed talking to you since we crossed paths on the 2005 SW-FOG..... even if you wouldn't take you helmet off for my group photos. Being in Witness Protection can be tough, I know. Get well... soon.

Holy smokes this is sneaking up fast. I better get my shit in gear and make some plans. Only 18 days till I’m outta here!
Just a BUMP REMINDER, after seeing Abercrombie and ZBears Northern Approach to SW-FOG 2014, there are also two Western Approaches going to Silver City.

BeemerDonS is leading an I-10 route via Lordsburg, NM and pegscraper Ed is leading his group over the Mogollon Rim route. Post up if want to join either group!

If there's an Eastern group, such as zzzzip and his hoodlum pal Petey, riding in to Silver City: Post up the details up here, so others can join up with you derelicts!

Zzzzip and I are crossing into NM at Clovis and heading S/W on 70 (May29th)

Jackie and I were going to be coming in from the West on Wednesday but plans have changed. Instead, we'll be riding down from Santa Fe on Thursday. Should we pick up anybody along the way?

I see it's been a week since the last "in the gutter" post and it is now the month of May, when 4 weeks from today we will be riding the roads to Silver City. Just a reminder for those who been sitting idle lately to do a MC check and get some riding in for this rally and some challenging roads.
For those who haven't read the "PACE" and those who have, it would be a good idea to re-read again. I know I need to review it from time-to-time.

I've been trying to get in shape after a long winter. I only did 150 miles of backroads today and when I got home I only drank 2 beers. I've got a lot of training to do. Doesn't help that there is snow in the forecast tomorrow. One of the roads i did today had 4' snow berms on the shoulders.

Uh stealth1, 2 beers with this SW-FOG crowd get drank before the first song on the juke box is done! You are drinking with professional alcoholics here: HotRodZilla!

Call me. You two can stop by the house and we'll take off together from here if you want.

That goes for anyone headed to SC through Albuquerque on Thursday.

I'm probably going to hit a motel around Winslow or Holbrook Wednesday night and head to Silver Thursday morning. If anyone is going to be in that area and wants to ride let me know.

wow Adam, seeing your bike on that trailor could make someone think you're a BMW rider. And what the hell, your bike looks clean and shinny.

I will be staying somewhere, just don't know where yet. Seems the guy that will be riding with me to the meet up place with Papa Gooey can't seem to remove his head from his ass and make a decision. However, that said, got my FJR out of mothballs, fluids changed, everything clean & shinny, ready to roll. Looking forward to riding to SC (not South Carolina) to meet up with the gang of holligans, reminiscent of Toas, NM.

I may crash the party, come in Friday, if I'm not still in Dallas helping my brother through aggressive cancer treatments. They say we might be able to go home soon. Anyway might show up at drinking time Friday to get away from the stress. Be safe heading in and have a good time in Newer Mexico!

Looking over my GPS, it came with hundreds of predetermined scenic rides already programed in it. I found one ride called "Devil's Ride". Looking at it, it travels along 191 (666) with stops in Clifton and an Old Copper Mine. My question is; does this sound anything like any of the planned rides set for the SC rides? It shows a distance of 211 miles.

Thinking of doing that either Friday or Saturday. Ride up to Alpine and then back down the NM side. On the other day I figure we'll run 52 to Hillsboro and then ride to the Gila Cliff Dwellings and the Catwalk.

Looks like this little 350 mi Thursday ride from Camp Verde to Silver City via 260 & 180 has gained some interest. So let's firm it up:
WHEN: Meet up between 8:30 and 9:30 with full tanks and a java infusion. KSU at 9:30

WHERE: Camp Verde at Starbucks Coffee, 1620 W. State Route 260 off I-17

Top off and stretch in Lakeside (160 mi)

Finish up in Silver City (190 mi) in time for check-in

I will be running RD, just in case. Let's have a good time.

PM me for cell #
BUMP reminder! for those who are viewing this for the first time and the route:

So there is a large forest fire burning near Silver City NM now and as of this morning it was 0 percent contained. Keep you eyes on the news for further info as the gathering gets close. You don't want to get caught up in the fire fighting mobilization areas.

We'll definitely keep taps on this in hopes it is extinguished before the ride.

The fire is just east and a little north of silver city. Near Pinos Altos, moving in a slow NE direction. You should be clear of that area during your day rides other than passing that area to go over the mountain to Hillsboro.
