Wow, that email sucked to get. I wonder how long that sale was in the works? Kinda crappy if it was pretty much a done deal, and they knew it, and didn't warn us about the possibility when we booked up the entire place. But the show must go on, progress right?

If moving cities, any thoughts on Torrey UT? Its a little further north, by Capital Reef Natl Park. I believe there are several hotels in the area..Hwy 12 is a really cool ride as well. (My plan was to hit that on the way down to Kanab!)

Moab, UT? Hotels might be a bit spendy.

Durango, Colorado? Know nothing about it, or the riding nearby. Just a thought looking at the map.

I guess we should wait and see if the Aikens lodge or Perry lodge might work out before talking other cities, since there are other members that have reservations already at different hotels in Kanab already. Disappointing turn of events.

Somehow, this is Don Stanley's fault! Actually Guys and Gals, I did buy the TT property and I purchased the Comfort Suites Franchise!
Honestly, if the Parry Lodge doesn't work out, there's no reason we can't try to move cities. Plenty of time and the mileage is neglegible.

If that doesn't work out, I say we move it to Tajique NM. A couple good roads and a house with a pool nearby. Haha...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tajique,_New_Mexico Well that seals it then, we will move SW-FOG 2015 to Tajique, New Mexico; population 148, all Indians! Just Kidding!

If Rebecca cannot move us over en masse to the Parry Lodge, the obvious answer is a Group Move to either Cedar City or Panguitch; large cities, more hotels.

This is disturbing news for someone coming 4/5ths of the way across the country! We still have our reservation at the Quail Lodge, though. I guess my mention of an invasion scared the hell out of them.

One other option is to change the dates to start on Wednesday or even Tuesday since it seems to be the weekend that is mostly booked. The downside could be that North Rim may not be open mid-week.

I had already reserved my room at Parry Lodge to keep some distance from all of you ********.....so much for that plan

Good bye little lady...we hardly got to know ya....

Given the lack of lodging in that town when I was calling around a month or so ago, I think it's going to be game over for Kanab

1) Spud is 100% correct, I along with others have been beating the bushes in Kanab for additional lodging!

2) The dates are going to stay the same, cannot change those for people who have booked vacation time!

3) If Rebecca does not come through on switching us to Parry Lodge, it will be Cedar City or Panguitch, UT!

4) Losing the Treasure Trail Motel impacted over forty people, we have to seek a city to sleep those 40 folks!

You've got folks with flight reservations and houses rented to think of as well!
Very true but if Kanab on the original dates is not an option then what is the next best option..........changing dates or location?
I am 100% with Steve - MCRIDER007, if forced to change location we just have to do it! DATES STAY PUT!

Still hopeful with Rebecca, but it is not the "End of the World" for those with non-refundable Kanab lodgings!

https://www.mapquest.com/#ea867200d2efdb98fc1529ae It is 80 miles and 1.5 hours from Cedar City to Kanab, Utah.

https://www.mapquest.com/#f3eef5ee7b0c30de5a66d6d5 It is 65 miles and 1.25 hours from Panguitch to Kanab, Utah.

I am hoping if we have to give up Kanab for lodgings for 40+, the non Treasure Trail Folks can get their $$ refunded!

But if not, we all have cell phones and UTAH 89 connects both Bryce Canyon NP and Grand Canyon National Park!

I got the email too. I'm thinking Cedar City is the next possible location that still might have space available. The other towns around the parks are pretty small

https://www.expedia.com/Cedar-City-Hotels.d6056362.Travel-Guide-Hotels Expedia is showing 29 hotels in Cedar City.

https://www.expedia.com/Panguitch-Bryce-Canyon-Hotels.0-n6056361-0.Travel-Guide-Filter-Hotels Expedia is showing 8 in Panguitch! BAD ODDS!

BwanaDik, based on this ratio Cedar City is the obvious choice. But, let's see what Rebecca can do with Parry Lodge. JSNS, keeping my fingers crossed here!

Ok Don. Let me run this by you.

When I reconnoitered the area last summer most places were full that Saturday night.

Of the places that had vacancies for all 3 nights my 1st choice behind Treasure Trail was the Rodeway Inn.

Main negative was it 's location a few blocks off the main drag meant no dining real close for walking to. Some of us like to stretch our legs a little after riding any way and there is always the phone for pizza option.

Good thing about off the main drag is hanging out in the parking area might draw less attention.

I just checked their websight and they have a room for all 3 nights but I don't know how many.

I talked to Ellen that day and she offered a group rate of $75 + tax at that time. You might want to call her an see what is available and what rates she will give you. Her phone is 435 899 0592. If we keep it in Kanab this is probably going to be the best option.

By the way, the North Rim facilities officially open May 15.

If you want me to check a few places locally here in Cedar let me know.

Just got off the phone with Rebecca and exactly like you said John: Parry Lodge is OUT for Saturday night. I read your post over the telephone to Rebecca, she knows Ralph the Owner of the Kanab Rodeway Inn and will contact him today! The Rodeway Inn looks A-OK to me, let's just hope that Rebecca can move us over en masse! JSNS!

Just a thought if Kanab doesn't work out. I have stayed at the Best Western in Mt Carmel Junction. Remember it as LARGE with an "annex" by the golf course. Lots of area for a group to gather and ? Large dinning area and something called a bar.

Many thanks to you Bruce, if all else fails I will also be looking at this! 'Zilla has a line on the only legal Whorehouse in UT, AJ is going to check it out for us! JSNS!

I stayed here in October and it was fine other than the kitchen was slow, but it would be a great spot with plenty of room.
