I'm in the beginning stages of planning a southern Ohio, and maybe Northern West Virginia ride for Saturday October 15. This is the height of the fall colors in the area.
We did a Spring Ramble...9 FJR's showed from IL, MI, OH, and KY. A blast was had by all. Fastfeejer led the way, mcarp (that's me, from the other board) was watching the six. All in all, fanstastic group of guys. Should have seen the other FJR's pass us on with a hug "WTF!!!" look on their face. The route will be forthcoming, but I guarantee everyone will be impressed.
This will be an all-day affair. 9am-7pm in all likelihood. Appx 350-450 miles of twisty, hill roads with some of the best scenery in the area. Afterwards...dinner/drinks at my house in Central Ohio. If folks want to stick around on Sunday, we'll go back out and ride more!
All skill levels and pillions welcome. We may break up into two groups depending on skill/preference. Make sure you have fresh tires and that your suspension is well adjusted! These are challenging roads that will require good equipment and attention.
Oh...before I forget...any local riders want to put a few riders up for the night?
I can host up to 4 riders. Wheaton, onedriver, and fjrescapertist have dibs since they were part of the first ride, and travelled some distance to get here from MI and IL.
Let the discussions begin..who's coming, where are you coming from, and what do you want to see?
Also, if anyone is up for an informal Ohio ride on August 27th or 28th, let's discuss that as well. I'm planning on a 400 mile twisty road ride that day with a "follow rivers/steams" theme.
