I haven't done 25 for awhile as it is getting pretty beat up. My old body doesn't like it much.
I had heard they worked on it some a few years ago but I can't say what it's current state is. I do know the road up to Windy Ridge has really deteriorated.

Really a shame! That used to be a great reason to ride 25 in the first place.....
Need to check with the forest service, the road is probably closed still due to snow. (I am thinking of the FS25 road behind Mt. St. Helens that comes out at Randal.
Looks like nf-25 is closed for the long term due to flooding damage.

That sucks. hopefully they get them fixed soon

Monroe Shell...does it strike anyone else as odd that we intrinsically know which of the two it is? I've always marveled at that as everyone seems to end up at the correct one every time. :) Safe ride guys!

Looking forward to my first tech meet, and TBS check. Will meet up with the gang at the Carnation Starbucks.

Thanks to everyone that replied with ride recommendations! What a great group.

Have not had a chance to reply, been working 14 hour days at Moms and Mom in laws for Mothers Day, now gotta get back out there in the yard.

Map

Time for the Spring gathering, bench racing and tech day. Saturday May 14th at my house again. (If you haven't been here, PM me and I'll send you the address) Starting at 9 AM going until 5 PM. (Cost is $10 includes lunch and helps with shop consumables) PLEASE Respond to the thread if you are coming so we can get a head count for lunch.
Try to keep in mind if you are doing something that takes a lot of time, that it may not be the best place to do it. Some have tried to do a cruise control install for the first time and have not been able to finish.

Maintenance suggested so far are:

Grounding system

Tire changes (Derek Weaver tire machine) for those who need to (please take your used tires with you to the recycler - Les Schwab will take then for a nominal fee)

TBS

PAIR system block off

Various electrical and electronic additions

Brake system flush - please RSVP this

Fork rebuilds

CONFIRMED: Dave Hodges (original owner of GP Suspension) and Barry Wressel (current owner of KPG Racing) will be here at noon to give a talk about suspension. Dave will be staying for a few hours afterward to talk about suspension

If you are traveling some distance and need a place to stay, there are a couple of motels in Auburn about 5 miles away (La Quinta Inn and a Pepper Tree Best Western).

Lunch - snacks, brauts, hot dogs, salad, and soda. Bring your own beverages for stronger stuff.

There will be a swap meet also. Bring your stuff you want to trade or sell.

Attendees: (Please RSVP that you are coming for a head count on the food)

FS 25 from Randle to FS 99 blows. Do the speed limit to save your rims and all will be good. The problem with FS 99 9 (aka Windy Ridge) is the sight lines are starting to fade as trees are returning to the blowdown area. FS 99 going in isn't bad but coming out is not as good as the slope is on the high side going in.

If FS 25 washed out completely between Randle and FS 99 and it took 2 years to fix it, great. Around here it mother nature has to have a catastrophic event before roads are improved!

Is there anything I can bring? (other than the $10)

If you want to bring anything for the swap meet. I am going to have a bunch of stuff for this swap meet. Looks like the weatherman is all over the board again hedging their bets again.
That's for sure. iPhone says 66F and rain. Dark Sky says 65F and 75% chance of rain. King 5 says 67F and showers with afternoon sun. This time of year is always a transitional crap shoot. :)

Since I'm new to the FJR I don't have a lot to swap. I'm eager to meet the local contingent, to see people at work on their bikes and just learn how to do the basics on this bike! Remove panels, etc. I have a lot of experience working on my STs over the last 15 years but of course it's a little different starting to work with a new bike. Don't want to break any panel tabs or anything. :)

Looking forward to the tech day!

Looks like a another great event but I have a schedule conflict and will have to pass. I hope to see everyone at the October Tech day.
