I love the smell of FJR burned gasoline in the morning ! PM me the address please Bryan....nothing to do with the new heart ....just typical old fart lack of mammary cells ! Cant wait to see the '16s ! Fantastic to still be alive and able to attend !
You have mail See You Saturday!

Looks like the weather forecast is starting to improve for Saturday!! I will try and meet up in Monroe but if I'm not there on time I will see everyone at the Starbuck's a little farther down the road. It's always a nice ride down for meet ups - it's like I get a ride in before a ride! LOL

Scott

If the Carnation meet up gets big we can split up to keep the groups small.

As it is looking to be not to bad I may look to get lost a bit on the way down!

Maybe on the way back also. I like being fashionably late. :)

I was getting serious today about route planning and was considering taking the Detroit Lake to Mt. Hood section off of Panmans route to shorten it up a bit however glad I did a little online recon... He and Adam K must have thought I was bringing my snowmobile! Could have been a really long day, my wife would have kicked my a$$! I think the route I outlined below will at least get us there but it's too dang much slab!

Edited changed route to 197 and 14 instead of 84...

Chinook Pass Update

April 30, 2014: Avalanche crew member prepares for avalanche control work above Chinook Pass.

Updated May 5, 2016
  • A warm spring has been our friend clearing Chinook Pass. Crews were able to bury the road twice last week and really knock the snow off the avalanche paths above the highway. Weather pending, SR 410 will reopen a week ahead of schedule on May 20.
  • Check out the latest photos on Twitter @WSDOT_east.
  • Cayuse Pass reopened 4/29/16.
  • Check out previous closing and reopening dates.

You could do Hwy 12 to 123 (Cayuse Pass) to SR 410 and come that route. Worst case if they close HWY 123, they you follow HWY 12 into Morton and take Hwy 7 North and go around the front side of Mt. Rainier

To the guys below who offered to let this "cruiser-owner-who-is-all-but-certain-to-have-a-'16-leftover-next-year-but-needs-to-sit-more-upright-to-be-sure-it's-the-right-decision" sit on their bikes @ Carnation a.m. and get a sense of the upright potential of risers and Helibars...I hope the offers still stand.

The three/four demo rides I've taken on the FJR all confirmed that the lean on a stock setup is just a bit too much.

lonewolffI'm planning on the meetup there in the morning and again no problem. The ONLY thing that will curb my attending is rain - I don't mind passing showers I just don't like to be soaked especially since I'm coming from Bellingham. Last year's Spring meeting was totally awesome for weather and I'm hoping for the same thing this year.

FJR Commander: I'll be in Carnation with risers, at least I will be if I don't need to get out the paddles.

escapefjrtistSince Panman and I are meeting in Monroe guess I'll be in Carnation too!

We'll be there '65. Another thing to consider. Your test bikes most likely had the handlebars set in the middle position. Although it doesn't seem like much, bars mounted in the most rearward position does make a difference.

See you Saturday.

Great to know there's so much adjustability. See you guys Sat. a.m. @ the Carnation Starbucks-- is 7:30'ish still the planned time?

I'm still finding/becoming aware of farkles installed by the P.O. The other day I realized that the triple clamp was not stock. Turns out to be a discontinued Helibar Tour Performance triple clamp with adjustable height and position. Also found that it has a PC III installed. Plan to play with both of those on Saturday. I'll still be meeting in Monroe, minus the wife. Babysitter fell through, and have some home repairs that need babysat.

Still planning on attending but for reasons beyond my control I will have to drive if I go, anyone around Snohomish area/clearview that would like a ridealong give me a PM (with your phone #). Probably only be there a few hours to enjoy some meets and greets, and get my hugs.

Unfortunately, I have to back out. Getting new suspension put in next week at GP and couldn't get in any sooner. Just haven't got the time to make the 6 hr trek each way twice in one week.
'Was looking forward to meeting people and seeing Jer again.
Next time.

I see there is a bunch of you meeting in the Monroe/Carnation area.......how about is there anyone coming over from the peninsulas?
