Mrs Bug (Gayle)has never ridden the road from LaPorte to Quincy (if you haven't you should-so much fun!)so I figured it was time to post up a group ride.

Bumped into OM this week in Nevada City and he assured me he would be happy to take a few pics along the way. I'm sure Beemerdons will be there ;)

Day: Sat Oct 15th

Time: Meet 9 am ish, kickstands up @ 9:30 This should put us in Quincy around 11:30.

Meet location: Chevron Gas Station 8 miles east of Marysville, corner of Hwy 20 and Marysville Rd.

Now that the weather is in fall mode this should be a nice day for riding, if not - forget it.

For anyone who's to far to ride up in the am and wants to camp out, I live in the woods and you are more than welcome to pitch a tent in my yard. I'll even provide some really good Coors Light for your thirst.

Doug

PS My daytime cell is 530-362-2094 which will work at the Chevron and in Quincy but not much in between. Life in the mountains!

If I've got the bike back from Roseville by then, I'd like to try this road. Hell, I couldn't do any worse than my boy OM, could I? I'll definitely be ready for a ride about then. Keeping fingers crossed.

Yup, it'd be nice to gather the NorCal weenies for a little ride before the snow flies, and we all have to hunker down

for another brutal winter.

(That was for you, Bungie.)

I can show y'all a debris trail.

Gonna try clear my calendar.

(It'll be good seeing you, beemerdons!!)

I'm going to put this on my calendar and seriously consider. I think I could make a long day ride of it, which would be better for me. Looks like a fun 3 hours to Quincy from my place via La Porte..

Might make a loop of it by coming south on 89 to 49 unless someone recommends a better route.

Zip, this will be fun! I do know some goat trails if you really want the long way home

Most of us will return via 89 to Grayeagle with a beautiful ride up over Gold Lake Rd to Bassetts Station where we turn left on 49 south to Nevada City where you can continue on 49 to Auburn or hwy 174 to Colfax/ I 80 or Hwy 20 toward Marysville.

It's all good now that the tourists have gone home. :yahoo:

I'd go, but it's not worth the trip to that little crappy town in the mountains. All the roads are real twisty, narrow, nasty curves, tons of trees, the three NorCal Mike's I couldn't take. Sounds like a bucket-O-crap ride to me. You NorCal types should hang out and cruise the 5, 99, 4, 580, etc, they are wide, smooth, nice roads. ;)

Inside voice:

Jerks! I wish I was there, I love the Quincy La Porte Road…

No kidding... I did a ride two weeks ago to Bridgeport over Sonora/108 then Monitor/89 and Ebbetts/4 on the way home... what an absolute joy to ride those roads with no traffic! Will be winging my way home from the Southwest (at Benton Hot Springs that weekend) but will be thinking of y'all on your journey... safe and brilliant ride to everyone! B)

WTH is Quincy?

You slanging San Quentin for short?

Would this violate CBA Rules?

Are loud-piped Harleys allowed to attend?

Sooo many questions

WTH is Quincy? If you have to ask, you'd better show up.

You slanging San Quentin for short? Nearest prison is in Susanvile-you're ok here.

Would this violate CBA Rules? Old Michael is our dedicated violator

Are loud-piped Harleys allowed to attend? What? I can't hear you

Sooo many questions  Empty your pm box so you can receive messages :p

Hwy 120 from Benton to 395 is one of the best motorcycle roads anywhere! Wish you could have made it up here but have fun in Benton.

I hear ya brother. It's hwy 50 through western Utah for me.
Actually, I can take 2 of the three Mikes. The third one drives me bonkers.

Bug, count me nearly 98% in. Sounds like fun.

One more thing.

Can I ride with only one headlight beam? It seems to bug the hell out of one of the Michaels.

If all goes as planned Cyndi and I will incorporate this ride into day one of our Fortuna / lasson Park Ride. :) :)

Oh God! You want me to write my name down and commit? Why do you think I am still single?
It will be OK Sam, Quincy is a college town (small perhaps) but they do have some cute girls working at the Courthouse Cafe. Ya never know when Mrs Right will be waiting on you.

You're in for the 15th!
