800 is still a fun road, just not very smooth....Maybe a route rework is in order for 800 and 676 then?

ok if Dean is thrown by the humps and hills down there, pre book me in a nice slow group with a gentle leader that won't be taking us into landslide type dirt & gravel...ugh, don't remind me. northern kentucky has some great roads. however the difference i've noticed between the great roads here, vs. down in north carolina and tennessee is down there, they don't have all the little hills and "jumps" and curves hidden by the hills that ky does. i'm a good enough rider, but those little humps and hills and blind curves totally throw me off. ...:..."...I can see that [my riding partner's] face has turned as white as the clouds ...'I guess I'm motion sick. All of those ups and downs at our speed are too much for me'..."Note to self ... bring dramamine.
Now what fun is that?Just don't ride faster than your sightlines so you can react to and avoid road debris
Yer right...forget I said that. Now what fun is that?Just don't ride faster than your sightlines so you can react to and avoid road debris
Thanks for the report...I will not reroute off of 676.I wouldn't do a re-route off of 676. As long as everyone uses their heads and the person inthe lead gives signals and warnings of what is in the road, then everyone will be fine. Besides, 676 is not a road that should be missed by anyone who has never been on it before.
Thanks for doing all the scouting hard work there thompsonian. That will be quite helpful. :clapping:We are expecting some more rain in the next few days so we should be good. However, there is always going to be some residual "crap" on SEOH roads. So be prepared and aware. Now hopefully if I don't have to work next weekend I'll be able to do a full ride of the route to do a once over of all the roads just to make sure we aren't surprised by anything.
I'm not gonna look....
I just finished up my first tank of fuel for the season, so you won't be the only one who's rusty. I been trying to decide if I want to ride with the half-fast group (pun intended) or the not-fast group. We'll see how the roads are and how I feel when I get there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone as well as getting out on the road. :yahoo:BTW, I'm gonna be pretty rusty at the Ramble...this cruddy spring combined with gettin' stuff on the bike has meant no time on the bike as of today. So it looks like I may set a pretty tame pace with whoever ends up in my group....atleast in the beginning that is.
