That would be my caution to riders as well, dean, at the start of the morning ride. Thompsonian will have to let us know where she will be setting up so I can warn the riders about this ahead of time.be careful with that. if she's readily visible, you might get into issues of target fixation. and i'm not talking because we see some chick on the side of the road and get googly. i just mean we're entering a corner, and a minor distraction can lead to issues. i've pretty much gotten used to the 3 different businesses that set up shop down at deals gap, but every once in a while on other rally rides there will be someone pulled over taking pics of their friend, and i could see where it would be a problem. when i've taken pics of buddies during rides, it's been during a stop and i'd tell them i'm going ahead to set up, so at least they know it's coming. So just an interesting tidbit. I spoke with a girl I work with today and got an idea. I'm going to scout the route and have her placed in strategic locations to take photos of everyone as they approach, pass thru, and exit a turn. Just something I thought might be fun and a neat souvenier for those of you coming from a ways away. I haven't quite got it figured out just where I am going to have her be, but I am thinking since we will be in the Marietta area, maybe we could make a stop somewhere for a group shot, or if we go to Big Muskie, she could meet us there for a group shot. Anyhow, just an idea I had. I've always wanted some good action shots of me on the FJR, and this would be my chance.
Let me just add here, that she is a photographer on the side and shoots weddings, senior pics, blah blah blah. So these won't be just some little shot. They will be a high quality pic.
i'd like to think that simply because we're on fjr's means we're a bit more skilled, more mature, and less prone to rookie mistakes, but i thought i'd at least post my opinion as a heads up.

I would expect riders to look through the turn and not be thinking of anything else but their riding and the situation in front of them.
Just so people know...this ride will have lots of turns...some of them right after a rise so people will have to keep their eyes peeled and senses aware. Do not make any assumption about how tight the blind curve is that you are entering or that the road after the rise continues straight...you will get bit if you do not commit fully to absorbing and scanning the road situation ahead and reacting to it.
