WOW !! Listen to Ray carry on. Sounds to me like he has a terrible itch that he can't scratch.
Can somebody get him some Vagisil.
Now my Christmas present from you makes sense

Got up to 65 today so I played hookey this afternoon to test out luggage with my homemade racks to keep the soft bags off the rear cowl. And no futzing around getting the bags centered, even, etc. Just pop them on the rack and one bungie cord per side.
Here she is in touring mode:

Don't worry Mark. Since I'll be one of the nonFJR guys I'll have money for beer..... as long as you don't mind all splitting one.
Looks like a good set up, but...refrain from lane splitting when they're on the bike...

I hear ya. Never again am I going to get caught like that far from home. I ordered new tires last night as a matter of fact. Good thing too as I got back from a spin this morning and have belt showing.

They ended up wider than I wanted but believe it or not I measured when finished and it is almost identical width to the FJR.

Will - what tank bag set up is that? I'd like to move to something that is off the tank like that. I have the original Yamaha FJR bag, it's big, and great for long trips, but I'd like to have something smaller for weekend hops.

Its the tanklock system from GIVI. That one is the t480. It's expandable and the pic is unexpanded. I've only had it a short time but it is high quality and I really like it so far. There is a smaller version that may have worked better on this bike, but the 480 would be great for the FJR.

Check with Alex. He has one of those and he might stock them.

So I went to the Ramble website to sign in and in awe of the banner. Where was that taken and what road is it? Will that be on one of the routes? Gorgeous view!
That is a picture on the Yellowknife highway in Canada, I have a similar one Beth took on our ride to Alaska.
