As usual, I was procrastinating on making the reservation, so not doing anything today I called the BW in ES....they are closed for the Holidays!!! Will return on January 2. I left them a message to call me.
FJRCHIK, Thanks again for putting this together!! You're the best!!!
EDIT: Removed my own suggestion as it might be causing confusion :)

You can make a reservation online (www.bestwestern.com) then call them after the holidays to confirm it and get the rate adjusted. If you're nervous about getting a room in time....
Naw, not to worried. Will call back tomorrow. I was going to book online but decided to wait. Don't worry, be happy!!

I'm inNewbie FJR owner, but long time biker (biker? did I say that?)

Retired, so my time is my own (other than family committments)

I've attended VROC "reunion" in Eureka with my daughter in tow and loved the place

Maybe I can link up with other attendees on the way there as I hate to ride alone on a tour

You wouldn't want me to trailer, now would you?

Anyone else from Louisiana going...how about Mississippi or Alabama

Draw a straight line from New Orleans to Eureka and let me know if you are there or close to there, please

I'm getting excited myself... yahoo.gif

Best of Luck & Please Ride Safe,

Mike in Ole Nawlins'

Check out my New Orleans Ride to Eat Gathering March 6-9, everyone here is invited (clicky in signature)
not any response to above yet, but realize it's still real early

also

I'm looking to share a room to help cut expenses if anyone is willing to bunk with me (I'm real easy to live with, believe me !!!)

if you'd like to discuss anything, please PM me and I'll send you my phone #

also, consider attending my New Orleans Ride to Eat Gathering March 6-9 - for more info check the CLICKY in my sig

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mike in Nawlins'

Hi Mike,

Glad you can make it to SFO! I haven't seen your registration yet so please go through the registration process (send email with your info) on the website mentioned in the first post. Then you'll get a reply from me verifying your on the list. Then you can call and get your room.

Also, you'll prolly get more attention for your Ride to Eat if you post up a new thread on it in the Texas and South room (if you haven't already). It's prolly getting a bit lost in here since this room is for SFO discussion.

I wouldn't make a reservation online as it just makes more work for them to make changes. We are in no danger yet of running out of rooms, so I would just call next week and get your room then.

Roger that, no problem. Will try to call again tomorrow assuming work is not insane, Monday at the latest. Thanks again...

Susie and I have it on our calendar!

Edit: As for the rides / routes, how do I get my grubby hands on some .GPX files? RTFM.

Thanks!

BG

Very bummed your not gonna make it Brad! I'll try to make a TWT thing soon and see ya then.

I ended up not having to work Thursday, the weather was great so why call a toll free number and make a reservation when I could register in person. (a 70 mi RT) In doing so I chatted witht the owner. The motel has 85 rooms and he has 35 left. We are going to be sharing the place with a wedding group. That should make for an intersting mix!

Rick still a FNG

Finally got around to making reservations. Told my dispatcher I want home this time or I might have to find another job.

David

edit: The recent ice storm should make for some interesting scenery this year. I haven't been home yet, but have been getting pretty gruesome reports of the Springdale, AR area. It didn't sound like areas east got hit quite as hard. Power is out at my Brother's house, and may be that way for another week or more.

Yes, think Springdale- Rogers area was hit really hard, and even on towards Eureka. Daughter lives in Fayetteburg, they were without power for three days. I think some of the homes in Rogers got power back today. Some places in the rural areas may be mid week, although two really warm days probably will help the crews get around a little better.

Probably explains why I couldn't get ahold of anyone at the BW on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Hope to talk to them tomorrow.

I spoke with Jed and Candi today. They are finally back at work. They haven't had power since the ice storm last Wednesday and their area has been declared a state of emergency. They had 3" of ice!! And with all the trees there, the place is a mess. They were housing a lot of stranded folks at the hotel the last few days.

But they are back and ready to take your reservations! We have a ton of rooms left in our block, which means most of you that have signed up have not booked your room yet. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy so really there's no need to wait. The wedding party that is staying with us that weekend is small and prolly won't book up their block. So far they only have 2 rooms. I would also urge any Canadians or other northerners considering this trip, to go ahead and get your room while the gettin is good! You can always cancel later if the weather doesn't cooperate. Please remember, do not book online. You won't get the discount and it will tell you that this weekend is sold out. They have the rooms blocked off from corporate for us.
