I could possibly play hooky for a day, if it falls on the right day.

Watching this thread for developments... ;)

Keep an eye on the weather, and let me know what day works for you (not this week). I'll need at least one day notice. Ive got about a 2 1/2 hr ride to get down that way

Maybe like Friday August 14th or maybe the 21st. We'll have to keep an eye on the weather. It would be great if one of you local riders could put a route together, maybe something around 300+ miles. Or we could just do some of the roads from last years Ramble.

Would a route that starts in Zanesville and ends in Lancaster by way of the Hocking Hills work?It would be about 250 miles...about 25% county roads and 75% state routes suchas 555,78,216,595,93,56 and 374.The Hocking county roads would include...Big Pine,Kreaschbaum,Thompson Ridge,Harble-Griffith,Ilsboro-Ceder Falls,Clearcreek and Revenge. It would take about five hours to run it.

Plenty of twisties, some nice tight sweepers and a couple of roads that just flat out have character...Big Pine and Clearcreek.

Let me know if you're interested.

Sounds good to me :yahoo:

I'd come along but I've gotta save my remaining time off work for EOM and whatnot.

You'ns'all ride safe!

Weather permitting I could probably participate on the 14th or 21st. (Nothing critical is booked those days for me at this time).

Did someone want to post up a meeting place and time so I can figure out when I need to leave?

You're not fooling anybody...I rode you're Ramble route...you know S.E.O. better than most locals.

I rode the intended route today and it came out to 165 miles and 4 1/2 hours with a break and lunch.I'll probably add a little loop to bring it up to about 200 miles and 5 hours.I'll post a turn by turn route tomorrow...I'm not good at plotting google maps so if someone else wants to do it that would be good.

As for meeting...there's A Duke gas station at the exit for SR93 a few miles east of Zanesville. It is just north of the interstate, from there we can take back roads to get around Zanesville. If everyone would rather meet on the west side of town there is a Starfire gas station and Mcdonalds at the SR40 exit. The west side would be a little better for getting to our starting point.

Time and date...I'm not working right now...I'm extremely flexable...any day works for me ,but I was planning on stopping at Jimbo's on SR56 for lunch and they are only open early on Thursday and Friday...time-10 or 11?

Like I said...I'm flexable. Denny

I'll be happy to plot your route in MapSource and generate a GPX/GDB file, lust let me know the turn by turns and a way to call you to verify if I have any ?'s

My preference would be the west side, but what's 10 more miles between friends when you're gonna log a 750 mile day? :)

Someone come up w/ a solid date and maybe I can talk my road partner ( Just Roy) into us making a trek to Ohio.

Sadly I had to cut out Harble-Griffith road. This is a great road but it is recently paved and ODOT's practice of lining newly paved roads with gravel has left it a mess. There isn't a clean right hander the whole way.If the group wants, we could ride it,but it would be at a cautious pace.

I'm just throwing this out there...meet Friday August 14 10:30 40 West exit on I70 just west of Zanesville...I'll get the exit number.El Toro? Others?
