SE Ohio Spring "Ramble" 2008

I will be there Friday evening and plan to head for home on Sunday morning. I'll ride the route on Saturday if the weather isn't too bad. Two of my nieces will be in Athens this weekend so I can hang out with the coeds :drinks: if I don't ride on Saturday.

Anybody else still planning to show up on Friday?

No need to apologize, unless of course you can control the weather. You put in a lot of work organizing this ride and it is appreciated.

I'll see you on Sunday morning. Dad and I are riding on Saturday, and he won't be able to join us Sunday. I will plan to be with you through lunch and then peel off to be back in Indianapolis by late evening.

Wheaton - Can you bring a copy of the tankbag maps for me? I think I'll need them to find my way back out alone...thanks!

I only have turn directions printed. If you would like a copy of the route...feel free to print out whatever maps you need from post #1.

I presume you would also have an Ohio Map to get yourself home...

I plan to be there Friday, maybe we can ride the route on Saturday. Wouldn't mind switching to Sunday, but can't miss work on Monday.

I'm listed as a "Possible"...though due to work requirements, I know that I will be unable to attend this weekend. I'm in Jacksonville now and won't return home until very late Friday evening. Then on Sunday, I'm most likely travelling to Baltimore...

Now you've got my attention again. I had such a good time last weekend that if I can swing gettin off on monday, I might just fly down Sunday mornin to join you guy's. It might be one of these leaving at 4:30 in the mornin being at the Super 8 by 8:00 or 8:15. Just curious are you guy's still plannin on takin off at 8:30.

Actually the plan is to meet at 8:30am gas tanks full...just on Sunday instead of Saturday...so if you get here by 8:15 then you should be fine.

...I am switching the Ramble Ride to Sunday. Call your friends and let them know of the switch.

Not much choice other than this...this front is a massive one that stretches from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico...so there was no dodging these raindrops. Mother nature has not been kind to this Ramble planning. Guess I made the wrong weather call last weekend.

If no one else is there...atleast griff and I will be riding. I've got to get more than the measly miles I have on my bike this spring. See you there. :clapping:

I had to work late tonight and just read this message. :blink: I can not ride on Sunday, so if anyone wants to ride on Saturday, I will be there. I do not think the weather looks all that bad, so my buddy and I are riding in Friday and doing the ride on Sat, then heading home.

griff and I are arriving Saturday evening after suppertime probably. There should be some that are arriving on Friday night based on the posts above.

Jeff and I are here at the Amerihost hotel in Athens. Weather has been great so far, 80-85 and sunny. Tomorrow we plan to do a large portion of the route. Took a ride by the Super 8, saw 2 fjr's there. We will stop there at 8:30 tomorrow morning and see if anyone is around. Hoping for another nice day.

Anybody postin a ride report. I hope that everybody had a great[and dry] time this weekend. Wasn't able to get away, but maybe some of us could come down here in May or June, if are work schedules will allow. Anyway hope you all had a good time. Dave

Jeff and I started Saturday about 8:30, we did the route to the lunch stop and loved it. We got rained on after lunch a little and since the weather reports all said it was going to storm, we took route 800 and headed north towards home. Had a nice ride and never did get wet. We stayed at the Amerihost hotel and it was great, nice pool, nice staff, walking across the parking lot to Bob Evans, much nicer place to stay than the Super 8. We will be back to do this ride again.
