When you live 5 or more hours from twisty roads, you do what you gotta do...especially if it is a 2 day out and back ride.

I'm hearing a lot of whiney gash crying from the retired set around here....

:D

Hey Karl, you're retired...you could get up the day before...say 2pm and ride over to a motel in Bedford. That way, you could get up at noon...and meet us at the Wendy's at 12:45 EDT.

Problem phixxxed. ;)

Hey guys, this sounds like a good time and its right in my neck of the woods. I'll plan on riding up Rt 450 to Bedford to meet you guys. I'll probably peel off at I-64 or there abouts and ride back to Vincennes. See you Saturday. Racer

Excellent...we'll see you at the Wendy's

Pencil me in too please. I (we) should be able to make the Sat ride, then back home Sat night as Corydon is only about an hour away.

Scooper, holler when your going to scout out the roads, I may be able to accompany you.

Ok, I'll give you a holler as soon as I decide when to run it. It will be on a weekend for sure.

Scooper
We only have this weekend coming up... Where you want to meet Scooper? I'll be coming from near Shepherdsville, south of Louisville....

I've never been to Louisville (or any other of those places on Wheaton's map), and I'm flying into Grand Rapids MI on Sunday July 17. Unfortunately, I'll be on foot for 2 weeks = Dang!

Some day...I'll get to see the UP.

All o'Yall have a blast and BE safe out there! :clapping:

ET

How about Corydon and run it backwards at say around 9:00 AM Eastern. I'm flexible but ready to ride.

Scooper

Sorry you can't make it. I grew up in Greenville near Grand Rapids.

The U.P. is a must on a bike but only if you go all the way to Copper Harbour.

Regards

Scooper

9 is not too late. How long do you anticipate it taking to do this and where will we be at the end? I'm game and flexible.

Ok here is how it went.

I left home at 7:00 AM to head for Corydon to meet up with ET at the Cracker Barrel in Corydon,In.. On the way I rode part of the route . Indiana 550 has recently been chip and sealed. It has alot of loose stone on it right now. It may be alot better by next week but if not we will have to take it slow or just skip it. There is an easy way around this by just going straight to 150 from 450. This will shorten the ride by say 20 miles. I'm cool with it either way :)

ET and I rode the whole route except 550 backwards and all is well. No road closings except 237 and I have that covered with nice paved county road detour. State Road 145 from State Road 37 to Bristow has three or four orange road construction signs but we found no road construction at any of them. The road is clear and we ran it quite spirited. Nothing else to report as the whole ride should go with out a hitch except 550 and we just have to take it easy or skip it.

ET and I split ways in Bedford and had a fun ride hitting the Twisties & Tunnels of Trees :)

I reccomend you all make this ride next week !!

Thanks Scooper and ET...I appreciate you guys taking one for the team and advance scouting. :D

I'm all for skipping 550.

Have you guys ever run the Loogootee Dover Hill Rd that I see on Google runs between the two towns? If so, we could take that SW from 450 to 150, then 150 east.

If not, then we will just take 450 SW to 150 east.

Thanks again for scouting that out... :clapping:

See you guys next Saturday...

final bump for Saturday's ride. see 1st post for meetup location and time.

You all are welcome to ride up into the flatlands and meet us for breakfast in Kentland at 7am. ;)

(By the time I get to Bedford to start our fun riding, I will already have ridden 6 hours and logged 300 miles...so I will need that burger and frosty at Wendy's for sure!)

Looking forward to this Saturday's and Sunday's ride for sure. Between this one and Hooterville, it was one of my favorites from last year! :clapping:

NEWS FLASH !! Southern Indiana has issued a Fair Weather Alert. Zero chance of rain and the roads rival any in the midwest.

BE THERE !!

Scooper

It looks like I won't be able to make the ride Saturday, but, a chance exists that I may be able to make it Sunday.... I'll know more Saturday evening.

So I'd say I'm a maybe for Sunday...

Ya'll have fun!!!
