I just ran into this thread, and decided to join in. However, I just called the Anglers Resort to make a reservation, and found they were all filled up that weekend.

Anybody got any suggestions/phone numbers for other places to stay around there?

Zip, try this place. I have stayed there, and it is clean and biker friendly. You are welcome to come to my house on Thursday. We are to be on the road Friday morning around 9am. You are about 3 hours from me. Smitty

Yes, Smitty, I'm in. Unless Mother Nature has a better idea. If that weekend looks like THIS weekend, I'm not riding down. Sorry, I'm not riding three days in the rain if I don't have to.

I did make a reservation at the Anglers. In fact I got the last available room. I have to cancel the room on Weds AM if I'm not coming. If I end up not going, I would just prefer to turn the room over to someone else. And I'd be happy to split the room with someone if anyone else would be interested. That's just in Mountain View on Friday and Saturday.

I hope to be down there by 7PM local on Friday, but I have no idea for sure. Depends on work, traffic, etc.... Smitty, I'll be in touch and probably call you from the road. That way maybe you guys can save me a seat at the dinner table!

After the garage work on Thursday afternoon/evening, I have had a request to dine at the best Catfish house in the great state of Missouri. It is the Catfish Kettle, in Farmington Mo. It is a all you can eat catfish, chicken, or shrimp. Or a single serving if you like. It is a great place to eat. for around $10. bucks.... you can eat till you puke...If any of you guy need any info, send me a PM....here's the list..

I am just going to throw this out there for everyone to think about..... The weather forcast for Arkansas this weekend is showing about a 50% chance of rain all weekend. As we all know the anglers has a 48 hour cancelation policy. Here in Missouri, the weather is looking a lot better. I know it is early in the week, and know the weather guys are wrong some/most of the time. I can put a good ride together on the Missouri side. I will ride rain or shine if one person shows up. I just want to throw this out there and get some input of what you guys think. I know most don't what to ride all weekend in the rain... Tell me what you guys think.... If we do change the PLAN, we will have to cancel our room at the Anglers Wed. morning.

I am riding down rain or shine. Even if the weather guessers are wrong, it looks like we'll hit some wetness somewhere on the ride.

Regarding Arkansas vs Missouri: if it looks like its somehow gonna rain buckets in AR vs sunny in MO (not sure how that would happen or how often that occurs) then I'll leave that call up to you. I would just like a little route map or ride directions for what we would have done in AR (if the weather was better). That way, I can use that knowledge for the next trip down by yous guys...

BTW, I ain't a-skeered a no rain

I think Friday you (and I) may get some rain when down at the bottom of MO and into NO AR. But I think this is going to be a GO. Sat and especially SUNDAY look to be great. 20 and 10% chance for showers according to Weather.com. And the Aviation progs look good for precip being gone later on Friday.

Progs update after 8pm, so I'll check them again and be in touch. But I think if you guys play near Hooterville early on, and don't get in a big hurry to run into AR as fast as possible on Friday, it should work out. Looks to me like the stuff is all going to clear out by Friday night.

I may get wet coming down, but Sat and Sun look REALLY GOOD.... for now anyway. I have rain gear too! I'm still in. So far.

Additionally, as I brought up the Catfish dinner down in Farmington, I am definetly in favor of that but I will go along with everyone else no matter how wrong they are.

What FJRocket said kind of goes for me, although like my pm said, I am a fair weather rider. I don't mind a little rain-- I won't melt. However, I DO get a little wilty when wet. I'm still up for it. Decision point for me will be Wed. night, or if most of you call it off earlier.

I've been watching Accuweather, and it claims only a chance of showers-- of course, that far in advance it is CYOA, and probably won't be specific until 24 hours before. And I am a bit farther north than you, so you can look into your crystal ball better than me.

I headed for Ark. over Easter Weekend to ride and there was absolutly no forecast for rain on the border when I left at 8am. Had watched all week-- none, nada, zip. Aborted ride later in the day, only to smile next morning when I pulled up radar and saw green and yellow all across south Mo. and N. Ar. Rained all day, and came north, so I would have followed it all the way home if I had gone on with the trip, and pulled out the next day.
