If it's the first weekend of May, I'm out. I'm already booked for the ST.n Eastern meet in the Caanan Valley Resort in WV that weekend.
Decisions, decisions...you could always cancel the ST.n meet
... or, we could invade the Caanan Resort instead of Marietta? Lots of good riding in both areas and the deal on the Resorts is $72 night for a double/taxes and fees in. Or you can camp for $20/night.

Just a thought.

Sport Touring.net Eastern meet It's only 175 miles east of Marietta.

Yeah...but then it wouldn't be a SE Ohio Ramble, now would it?

Always the biggest pain in the *** is finding a weekend everybody can make it. As you can see...even SIX freakin' months ahead it's hard to do.

I doubt if I will have vacation time to make this, given my plans for next year...but I MAY be able to get some Comp time or something like that...so I can't say I WON'T be there.

It's one of my favorite areas to ride ever, and is always a fun little group ride.

Polls are great, until someone's feelings get hurt...cuz the poll result didn't work out their way. ;)

You boys and girls be good. :clapping:

EDIT: BTW, The Canadian boys had a very good tip when the y mentioned the Microtel in Marietta had a reasonable rate...if we're in Marietta, and the Microtell has a good rate, I would recommend that.

+1 to what Wheatie said.

Essentially, whoever "runs" thins thing has to make a decision and work from there and people will just have to live with it or organize their own ride.

I'm a firm believer if all I'm going to do is show up and ride, I don't complain. I'm always welcome to take my ball and go home. So no complaining.

Once upon a time there was a WV Ramble that started out as an Ohio Ramble... speaking of which... Mark do you ever hear from Mike (Yamahalic) anymore?

Nope. Last I heard, he was running away, screaming, holding his head in his hands while organizing a Ramble.

Seriously, I think he and his wife, explored other activities like motor power boating with friends that took him away from FJR riding with Forumites.

I'm not going to vote due to the unpredictable nature of my job, but I will definitely try to make this, no matter when or where it is.

How's this work ? Arrive Friday, ride Saturday, go home Sun ? This is how I may be able to do it, if that's OK.

I just checked, and It's 10 hours on the slab, not counting stops, for me to get there.

As long as the roads are straight and boring it will be worth it. ;)

Yes, pretty much a show up and ride. Last spring, Wheatie had two great routes, one for Saturday, one for Sunday. Most rode in Friday night (late Friday night if you were following Bikergeek), rode Saturday, some rode Sunday and some bailed for home, the balance rolled home Monday.

Small groups, self paced, staggered launch.

Yes, I'd do 10hrs of slab to get there if I had to. But I don't

Art, make the trip. You'll love it. So flat and straight, hell, I made the trip down there twice this year, One of them I skipped Nerds for! Weirdest thing though, your tires don't seem to flat spot down there. Go figure!

How do you figure 10hrs? I can run down there in about 13 including stops. Unless I'm riding with JohnD, then it's 13 hrs from his place and it's 300 miles closer!

Here, when you've got some time to kill... My YouTube channel with a bunch of videos from SE Ohio

I'm just going by map source. I just put my town and Marietta as way points, and it said 10 hours. I have it set to ovoid toll roads, and fastest time.
