The Microtel has rooms for $84+tax per night right now.

I checked the Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn, and they are both completely booked for the 17th-19th. Is there something going on in Marietta that weekend?? I'd hate to end up smack in the middle of a giant Harley gaggle and end up playing leap frog all weekend long.

If there's a local event scheduled, it might be wise to avoid the area during that time if it will flood the roads with traffic.

Hey, FWIW, I spent about four days at the Micotel in Marietta during

last falls' Ramble.

Very accommodating, great location, lots of "walk to"s.

Plenty of places to hang out in the parking lot.

I give it two thumbs up!

Did you happen to check availability for the first weekend? If it changes to 3-5 I can go!!

3-5 seemed open. And that way there would be someone there to ride the "SE Ohio 500" with me...

I am open to either date...AND to a 500. :)

Would the Microtel be cheaper on the earlier date? The Canadians bragged about that deal.

You'll need a motorcycle first, Wayne. That'd be one helluva long run for a guy your age. You ain't no Forrest Gump...

Posted, etched in stone, and written across the sky now fellas. This might even rate a t-shirt or three...
Is there a time limit for doing this? I'm thinking that'd be a nice 2-day ride for a wimp like me. And I don't have enough t-shirts.

3-5 is fine with me, also. Actually, I think that's what I originally voted for, anyhow.

You gotta extra bike, dontcha?

The benchmark is somewhere under 12hrs if I recall from EOM - by the end of the day, everything was kinda hazy though...

Okay, I just deleted my original vote for 17-19th and moved it to the 3-5th.

It will be a little cooler, but maybe my buddie Marty/0Face might be able to make it then...plus, it sounds like Marietta might be less busy then and we will have the roads and the Marietta Brewery to ourselves.

But like all previous Rambles, just choose a date and I'll try and get there.

Nothing better than all those flat, straight, and boring roads of SE Ohio. I am just a masochist to want 500 miles of them.

5am?!?!?! **** that! you guys have fun.
