When I have all items set on "high" (HIDs, PHIDs, Widder vest, Widder Arm Chaps, Widder Leg Chaps, Valentine One, GPSIII+.....), the Datel will display ~ 13.4v (+/- .1v)

Questions.
What did the stocker show on the datel when the same items were on full blast?
~ 12.6v - 12.7 volts.... and that's WITHOUT the leg chaps running.

Since owning the FJR, I've just left my Widder leg chaps in my garage. Between aux lights and just the Widder vest itself, I was already past the performance envelope of the FJR's electrical system; there was no need to even consider trying the leg chaps before this stator.

Based on your findings so far, this should make up the difference I need to keep myself and wifey pretty happy 2-up in the cold at night.

Lets hope this thing holds up for the long haul.

I'm very tempted to reach for my wallet right now, but will show restraint with this farkle, as it has the potential for a road side stranding some place.

So RPMs were right about the sweet spot (or maybe a bit understated) for cruising down the road... awesome.

I probably missed it and I am too lazy these days to search.... But how will the voltage regulator handle the extra current draw?

WTF? :angry2:

If you can't scroll through the first page and look for the word "voltage" or "regulator"--let alone type those two words into IE search--you don't deserve to get an answer.

Get your lazy ass off the sofa and turn off Jerry Springer! :dribble:

Where do I get one? Are they available now?

Lazy Dude...

Try going back one page on this thread (march 26 post) ----or at the beginning of the thread----or somewhere :bleh:

Edit, add on: Warchild, Thank you

Enough to electrocute your nads and make you go bald down there.

Next question.

I feel I need to ignore at least 2 more before the evening is through.

Any other install considerations for those of us that are mechanically challenged? As simple as removing and replacing a few bolts and connectors here and there? :dntknw:

There are three (3) potential "got'cha's" that you may encounter when installing this stator:

1) The most painful aspect about this job is removing all traces of the old stator cover gasket, should you need to. In some cases, the old gasket can be re-used, but quite frequently, the gasket gets torned up in the course of removing the stator cover, and a new one must be installed.

2) Snaking out that large grey Regulator/Rectifier connector through the frame and engine bay can be a true ass-pain. Take your time, use a good small flashlight to see where the connector gets hung up, etc, etc, and it will eventually come out. Most fortunately, snaking in the three white wires of the new stator when going the other way is piece of cake.

3) There is a large philips-head fastener located inside the stator cover that can be a bitch to remove (this fastener retains the wires away from the rotating magnetic flywheel). Use a proper-fitting tool; it will take a lot of force to break this fastener free.

Once again, deep gratitude goes to Warchild for his time and wisdom.

THANK YOU! :drinks:
