Cometman Mark,
I know you had mentioned you may take a trip up north to visit one of your kids prior to heading to Taos. Let me know if you still plan on doing that. I am still planning on arriving in Taos a day early so I can monitor Pinhead's beverage consumption. Those skinny fellas don't have much tolerance ya know! I see you mentioned two weeks vacation. That opens up ideas.

Dan
For those of you who don't speak Arizona / Colorado Native Code Talking; like the Navajos, Hopis and Zunis do: "...so I can monitor Pinhead's beverage consumption!..." translates into "...so I can get into Pinhead's pants!..."

Oh no. Now I am worried. I have been hanging around these guys. Thanks for the translation. From now on if anyone even mentions monitoring any kind of consumption, I am out of there...... unless you are a women of course, then you will have my complete attention.

PS: Big D, I will let you know soon about my intentions for traveling to Taos. Going to Seattle at the end of July instead of September. The heat is my only big issue that time of year. I hate deserts in the Summer but love them in the Spring, Winter and Fall. I will PM you soon. I just bought a Vstrom and I am naming her Lara Croft like the main man beemerdons names his group of fine Phillies.

Mark

How soon will you be posting up the attendees for this rally (including pillions)?
Ed, 0230 hours in Phoenix and The Stanley Boys are final packing for our two week road trip to the BMW Rally in Oregon and WFO in Eureka; when the kennel opens at 0600 for Bear the Lab and Gary the Cat: We're heading out of this Hot Hell Hole. As soon as we return on July 26, Big-D and I'll contact Cheryl for her confirmed; and, I will scour the past posts for the current participants.

Sounds good.

I'm sure you will be greeted by cooler weather on the western side of Oregon and NorCal. The last few weeks we have been blessed with 70s and 80s around our neck of the woods. Great riding weather but not going to keep the hope up because I know the delayed 90s and 100 should be here soon.

Have a great time on your ride and be safe.

It looks like there will not be any rally shirts, hats or whatever to bring back from this rally. The only thing being the plaque. So let's have the details on it again so orders can be made in a timely manner. Maybe start a dedicated thread somewhere else. Just saying.

going to see if i get get the time off from work for this,

i have the money now, just need to get the days off

Great News, sin_loki! I was really hoping to hear from you about attending, since you are already a SW-FOG Veteran Rider and Attendee. We hope you can get the days off, too!

Hello pegscraper, You Have A Really Great Idea! I'll send an e-mail and a private message to Bustanut joker asking him start a separate thread under the SW-FOG header stating how to order up his SW-FOG 2010 plaques. You and the rest of the San Diego FJR Crew saw my plaque at the Mt. Palomar ride that johnny80s, Fairlaner, Neil and Bluesy organized.

Bust's plaque is a real work of art, I proudly have it up on my hall wall, along side of all my other moto photos through the years. FOOTNOTE: Barry is kind of mad at me right now, I'd called him a ********** over on another thread. Sometimes I just cannot believe how damned thin skinned folks can be on our FJR forum. If I call RadioHowie a **********, Steve takes it as a compliment!

I do have to warn you and others though, on the back of my plaque is an engraving of Bust and odot naked together in a hot tub. But, I just think I received a "Special Edition Commemorative" plaque!

How does this ride stack up to the national ride in TN? This may be an obvious question but SW-FOG is over a 100 miles closer to me (DFW area) and I have yet to test my long distance endurance on the FJR (the Russell I just recently purchased should help).

I only see one person in Texas signed up for the national ride. Any Texans going to this one? Also a few 2-up on the national ride, maybe 6 or 7. Any 2-ups for this ride.

Thanks,

Barry

As of right now we have 12 riders that will be bringing a Pillion (passenger), but there are also a few wives or SO's that ride their own set of wheels. Of course these numbers could change in either direction by the end of September. We also have one coming from as far away as South Carolina!!

And of course there is always that chance someone may kidnap a "lamb lovin' scoundrel" and bring them to this ride too!! And I'm not talking about Niehart, even though he recently confessed his true passion for woolly creatures!!

It's been my experience that the smaller rides are a bit more laid back and informal than the big nat'l meets.

Not saying that's good or bad-- just different. It seemed like it was easier to meet folks and get to know them on the smaller rides. Of course the bigger meets give you a lot more groups to ride with.

I've been to some EOMs and I don't know the NAFO routes, but it seems to me the rides out west have been a little less technical (twisty) than the rides out east. If you want the tight stuff go east young man. NM will have bigger sweepers and open road-- at least it did when I went to the FOG in '05.

as a side note:right now am "experimenting" with salsa with Bhut Jolokia and will be bringing some to SW-Fog for those who wish to part take.
Yum, bring it on but the word "experimenting" has me curious being your so close to Vandenberg and all...

Are those babies rocket fuel or just a nice bite?

I love salsa

but sometimes it doesn't love me
