I'll know more in a few weeks, but I plan to make this (my first) event.
Thanks for the efforts all!
ScottyUSN: Welcome aboard! When August gets here, send private message to petey here on our FJR Forum. petey knows all the Oklahoma guys going to SW-FOG!
Yes ScottyUSN, if you'd like to hook up for the ride out to SW-FOG, that would be great. Also, you could make your first FJR get together in May for SFO in Eureka Sprs. :yahoo:

Awwwww, that sounds good too! :dribble:

Looks like Roy and i are gonna make the trip from Vancouver down to Taos, just so happens that we get to stop at Bonneville on the way down and watch some off Speed Week....YE FREAKING HA..

That's really way cool, Richard! I'll miss my Son Seth so much, that I am flying to Seattle on 9/8, teaming up with Niehart (who is loaning me his FJR, while he has to ride that dogcrap Ducati of his), and then I fly back to Phoenix on 9/13. I will wave to McRide and you as I fly over Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Week! You'll have fun!

I'm in! Just made my reservation. Will be attending the Bavarian Mountain Weekend rally in Sipapu the previous weekend and then cruise around southern Utah and possibly nothern AZ before coming back to Taos. My wife my drive down from Denver to attend. She's not much into motorcycles, but the shopping aspect has her interested. Also the fact that I will be in a hotel instead of the usual tent.

Richard,

Assuming you will ride your bikes to Taos and not trailer, I may join you guys on your trip through Bonneville if I can swing the trip to Vancover. I want to go, and perhaps hit the NAFO too after Taos. However, if you trailer, I guess I could do that also. If that would be cool with you guys? I want to make it a point to meet Busta if he attends NAFO and buy him a beer for all the ragging I've done to him.

Dan

Don, don't some of them let you bungie jump out of the balloon? 'Cause I'd pay to see you do that.
Here's something worth looking at that's lot better than watching Fat Papa Chuy bungie jump out of a hot air balloon: SW-FOG Engraved Plaque from Bustanut joker!

Just returned from a week of visiting RadioHowie and Goofy in Disney World, I actually cannot tell those two apart, and here was a package waiting from Owosso, MI!

I'm normally little apprehensive opening any mailed packages from Bustanut joker, could be mota or sheep ****-you never know, but it contained incredible artwork.

I'll be packing Barry's artwork over to California this weekend, when Big-D/SW-FOG Rally Co-Coordinator and I ride over to Neil in San Diego's Ducati / Palomar Ride.

I'll have johnny80s take a photo of this nicely prepared gem and we'll call Bust to make arrangements for you to order your own SW-FOG wood plaque from Busta!

Just a couple of things to add...on the ballooning. If you want to go they take off early and generally drop you down into the Taos Gorge and touch off the Rio Grande. It looks like a cool trip. They then bring you back up and occasionally dump you out on the mesa above the river at a speed that's a little faster than a run. Don't worry, I've only seen one catch on fire and most people don't even need an ambulance.

BeemerDons...how many people do you have slated to attend this? I'm going to ask one of the local walking distance bars if they'd be interested in "drawing in" some customers by providing a FREE FIRST BEER to the SW FOG guys. I'm not making any promises but a buddy of mine knows the people that run the bar fairly well. I need a rough estimate of how many people would be showing up first though.

If there's anything else you need help with up here let me know. If you don't have my number call HRZ and get it from him or pm me.

For everyone else, the weather up here is usually perfect that time of year but be prepared for rain and chilly nights. There are also lots of hotsprings in and around the area so if you would like hit me up and I'll point you in the right direction.

Oh, everyone else...I almost forgot, Taos is now charging a $10.00 motorcycle fee for riding in the area...I spoke with the mayor and he said you all can just give the money to me and I'll make sure the town gets it...They said they'd wave it for beemerDons and HRZ. Busta, you'd have to donate a sheep, but the rest of you, I take cash and pay pal... :chickawow:

That plaque is sharp, but....uh...think I can get one with a BMW GS1200 Adventure on it? not ALL of us are perfect....

I'd like to announce that JimboTex has made his reservations to attend the 2010 SW-FOG. Looking forward to meeting you Jimbo, this gathering will prove to be a great one.

Big-D

Wow, looks like a lot of fun, just noticed all this. Wondering if anyone is going from the NW, maybe share rooms on the way down and or back.

Greg

Any Darksiders planning on attending?

I'm very much on board with the CT concept, but lack the <something> to pull the trigger without some first-hand experience. maybe a test ride, or just following one around to watch.

Don't know if any darksiders will be there. Ed Grant just went over to that side and he is in Texas. Send him a PM to see if he will bring his FJR to SWFOG.

I can tell you I have ridden with OCFJR (the man behind this madness) before he went darkside. Eric is a bright stand up guy who can ride very well and I respect his information to be good motorcycle talk not some bench racing stories.

I have no doubts it's completely 'As Advertised' and OCfjr has all his ducks in a row.

I just wanna ride one/talk in depth with an owner to see if it'd be my style before I drop the benjamins for the tire and mounting.

Perhaps if we offered RadioHowie animal *** with New Mexican armadillos and burros, he would consider riding to Taos from Winter Haven, Florida for SW-FOG 2010! It never hurts to ask him!!!

I plan to attend and should have a few thousand miles on my Michelin auto tire. So far I am very pleased with this tire.

That's great news, Longrider! Another added feature of SW-FOG 2010: Being able to talk to a Satanic Darksider in person; we'll stock extra cat's blood brew in Room 106's fridge for you, Longrider!

How about the Virgins? I hear those Darksiders love a good sacrfice.

My mistake, Bugnatr! You are absolutely correct in that the Darksiders will also be sacrificing Virgins. But, they will probably have to go to the VFR forum to find them; none here on this FJR Forum!
