Heck of a way to merge onto a freeway!

Not sure what the guy was thinking, or was it a case of going where he was looking, not "look where youwant to go"?

He wrote a check his ass couldn't cash.

He went in hot, too hot for his experience, and freaked. Not wanting to look in, and lean, he was afraid of laying the bike down. So he let the bike ride him...into a truck. It could have been much, much worse.

Looks like a shortage of judgement and riding skills. Or maybe drug/alcohol influence.

T-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes, but a full-face helmet. (Ironic combination.) Wonder if he's shopping for armored gear?

For those who don't want to be potentially ambushed by some grizzly dead motorcyclist videos, an introduction to a link and not just a link with a vague comment ahead of it is appreciated. No dead MCs in this one, thankfully, but not through any fault of the rider's. It shows a guy merging onto a freeway and astonishingly cutting through the merge-lane diagonally straight into the traffic lanes, where he bumps into the side of a pickup truck, goes down, and apparently does not get run over.

I don't see this as target fixation. What was he fixated on? It's a gently curved merge lane that you could take at 100 MPH. And he doesn't seem to have been going all that fast. All I can think is that he was dreaming about his girlfriend and just went straight instead of turning the bike. Gear would not have helped if a car went over the top of him....

FWIW - the title of the thread was changed from "OH $h!t" to target fixation by the mods here..... Was not me that titled it that....

Out of likes, so quoted. (Thank you, Mr. Risk Management!)

1) Yes, please! I do not want to see videos of moto crashes, so please consider titling them appropriately.

2) Target fixation? I don't think so. This would have been stupidity even if done in a car. I think it was NON-fixation on surrounding traffic.

3) Kudos to all the cars that did not hit the doofus as he was rollin' and tumblin' down the concrete. Gold star bumper stickers for all y'all.

4) THIS VIDEO IS WHY BIKERS HAVE JUSTIFIABLY EARNED REPUTATIONS AS HOONS AND NIMRODS. And we all suffer for it.

5) Grounds for revoking his moto driver's license? Yes, absolutely.
