I must have dime store taste...most of my wrong answers were on the luxury end of the spectrum.

14 outa 20. Don't pay much attention to cars like I used to.

"63% Dixie. Well under the Mason-Dixon Line"

I grew up in MO... :dntknw:

"20% Dixie. Wow! You are a Duke of Yankeedom!"

Not a Yankee...I'm a midwesterner. Test Writer compiler obviously can't tell the difference, even though the individual responses indicated "Great Lakes region" on most Q's.

That's a "drinking fountain"! What the heck else could it be?! :assassin:

100% Dixie - Is General Lee your grandfather??

Which isn't right, because 4 or 5 pointed out as common to the Great Lakes or Northeast. Stupid quiz.

Soda is a clear fizzy water you mix with some whiskies.

17 of 20 on the cars. And I thought I skipped commercials on the DVR.

"soda" is a glass full of say... root beer or cherry "pop", with a big scoop of ice creme, whipped creme, and a cherry on top!

Those idiots don't even know what "soda pop" is, let alone "pop"! <G>

Oh 1st one I got 47% Dixie...

Advanced, I got 14% <LOL>

But I cheated, the 2nd time I took the test I got like 90some% Dixie <G>

Mary

Damn, 0% Dixie.

After living down here for almost 4 years now, you would think some of the local slang would have rubbed in.

No wonder the guys I work with look at me with a blank stare when I talk, They're all good old boys, 99% Dixie.

15 of 20 on cars. Guess I don't pay much attention to car ads or the color of logos.

60% Dixie. Barely in Dixie

I was born in Selma Alabama, moved to a bunch of other states, then moved back to Birmingham. Also lived in Shreveport Louisiana and Georgia twice, Tucker & Decatur. I've also lived as far west as CA, all over the Midwest and the northeast. (Plus two years in Arecibo Puerto Rico.) I guess the Midwest and south has continued with me.

I wonder how our Texskimo and Canadians scores on this...

That language test was awesome! It isolated all the different areas that people say certain things. The thing I loved most - the soda/soft drink/coke/pop question.

57% Dixie. Barely in Dixie

Technically I'm from the south. The deep, deep.... deep........ deeeeeeeeeeeep south.

For the car thing, I was kinda worried, since I don't know much about cars here, since they're different models, names and even makes over here (e.g. we have no Acura, only Honda). Easiest one was the Nissan "Z" model - it's called the 350Z in Australia. 17/20, got the badge with the bull on it (an american make of some sort) and the Hummer tag line wrong (no one buys hummers in Australia, they're too expensive), and the Scion one wrong (no such thing in Australia).

EDIT: what's Dixie?

Dixie refers to the southern states that were part of the Confederacy during the Civil War.

There are several theories about where the word Dixie came from, but nobody knows for sure. Some guesses are that Dixie is derived from the Mason/Dixon line, a Louisiana bank was printing 10 dollar bills and in French, and the French word for 10 is dix, it may also have come from Johan Dixie that sent slaves to the south. Everyone agrees that the song "Dixie" made the name stick.

That car quiz is... stupid. I didn't even finish it. Most questions were obvious to anyone that's been awake for the last 5 years (this just in... Ford doesn't make the Charger), but I'm supposed to know which way the Aurora's rocket badge faces? I was also put off by "which car is not made by Honda?" which listed the Matrix (Toyota) and the Pilot (actually made by Isuzu). Also, several questions weren't about cars but about advertising, so **** that. :)

100% Dixie. Is General Lee your grandfather?!

ummm like i expected anything different ^_^

now on to the car test

12 of 20 was guessing on most of those. down here in dixie all you need to know is ford pickup and chevy pickup :D

19% Dixie. Duke of Yankeedom. Born and raised in Connecticut, spent 17 years in Florida and am now back in CT. Would still be in FLA if the schools were somewhat up to speed. I guess they don't call it Flori-DUH for nothing. Once the kids are in college I will probably go back.

BTW - I HATE friggin winter!
