The average age of FJR owners just went down a bit

Bought my FJR for my 60th BD. In March I'll have the pink slip.

I stopped calling myself an old fart a while back out of respect to the

the real OF's on this forum. Hope to hell I'm still riding 10 years from now.

I was 28 when I bought a 99 Triumph Sprint ST and 33 when I bought an 05 FJR last year. I love being able to keep up with the crotch rockets and have room for a cooler and anything else I may want to bring with. Also, not having a sore back or arms at the end of the day is also a bonus to riding a sport tourer vs a pure sport bike.

Agreed... all your points are what sold me on my Feejer! As a relative young'in (33) I picked up my low mileage '06 last spring from a 65yr old rider who surprisingly upgraded to a brand new Ducati Multistrada! Almost took the plunge on a Honda VFR800 as I thought that's what I wanted... One long test drive on a used one told me I would hate the position for my 6' long legged frame after 400 mile days.

I have yet to show up at a group ride with the average aging bluehair FJR owner, but that might change at CFO 2013! ;)

I guess I do things backward. (Okay, that open a door...)

A couple months before I turned 50, we went looking for a Sport Touring bike and came home with a Goldwing.

A few months after I turned 60 I'm getting the FJR.

Good things take time. (Oh, here we go again.)

just let my brothers sun ride my fjr he was on it for a 2 days now instead of buying a r6 he looking at buying a fjr this spring he's 24 years old all his buddys' ride the croch rockets .

he said he likes the fact he can carry more than a back pack (LOL).

Yamaha Dealer turn a blind eye to young peope. When it comes to a FJR my brothers' sun 24 took my 07 fjr out for a weekend and fell in love he's not going to get the R6 he was looking at it will be a FJR. He's 24 all we got to do is be willing to let them try are bikes out . (that was the scarry part) Lol......

Four hundred miles? That must be some kind of record er sumpin.
Well, that wasn't a high estimate for my FJR, but the furthest I'd ever been on my old bikes was 200 in one day. Current FJR record in one day is 730 miles... No saddlesore 1000 but its not bad for a newbie distance rider. And not possible without my RDL seat..! ;)

25 years old here. Had mine for about 2 years now.
Sure...

I believe that one...

Haven't seen any uh deez younguns at any FJR meets. They must be afraid of us...or more likely, embarassed to be seen with all the blue hair FJR riders that will smoke 'em. ;)

Shriveled up on the outside, crazy as a teenager on the inside.

...ahhh yes, but remember young Jedi, some most of us old geezers still carve a pretty mean corner!

As long as it's after our naps...

Oh yeah Wheaties...'Cuz you're sooooo old. What are you?? 45??

34 here. I've been touring on my zx10 for the last few years. I just picked up an 05 cuz my butt and wrists cant take it on the long hauls any more. I can't wait for spring here. I haven't gotten rid of the zx10 yet. You know, just in case.
