Jes sayin'.....

Which brings up another question: WTF do people from San Diego or Tampa Bay know about hockey? In Tampa it's so freeking hot and humid the baseball team won't even play outdoors!! In San Diego they think surfing is a spectator sport. :p

Just look how long the all time list of Hispanic hockey players is: spoiler: It's Four (Quattro).

OM, we gotta dial it up a notch or two, you say. Yep, too much of a 9 day snooze between rounds. It WILL get better.

Fred, Fred..... the Floridians and the Californians have TWO teams each... Must be HUGE hockey fans.... no wait, I remember now, it's all about Disney. But, I think you really meant that Phoenix and Atlanta don't really need a team.........

Fred,

I know that the California teams and Florida teams certainly don't have the quality players that the New Hampshire NHL representative puts on the ice.....

Oh, wait -----

Not sure if you've noticed, Howie, but New Hampshire doesn't have an NHL team.

It is a small and mostly rural state. Our biggest city would be a suburb in most other states. And, you can traverse the entire state in 2 hours in it's widest point. The fact that there have been 7 NHL players who were born in NH is actually pretty astounding. Population wise, NH runs about 1.3 million. Florida, as you probably know, is around 18.1 million. Floriduh has had 3 NHL players. Califorrnia, with a population of 36.5 million has raised 24 NHL players

Boston, where all of the New England pro sports teams call home, is in Massachusetts. I can remember this because I was actually born in a well known suburb of Boston. Yes, I am a transplanted Mass-hole!!

FWIW, there have been quite a few NHL players that were born in MA, 166 to be exact 25 more from CT, and 18 from li'l Rhody. So, yeah. There have been a good number of New Englanders in the NHL.

The southern 3 states of New England are where the population is. And even including them, the total population of the 6 New England states' is still less than Florida ( ~14.5 million). Which is the real reason Floridah and California have the franchises. More people to fill the stands.

The only reason New England hockey players are allowed in the NHL is so that Canadian born NHLer's have some pillions to skate around during practice. :p

Hah... I thought it was so they'd have some easy marks for racking up the power play minutes.

Probably the real reason is because there are only so many ticket buyers in Canaduh. To get all of those US bucks into their Canucky coffers meant they needed to display some partisanship. ;)

And then there were the 1960 and 1980 Olympic thing... Kind'a hard to win the gold with crappy young players. Now it is less of an indicator, since the pros play, and will declare their citizenship wherever it is beneficial for them to.

Being polite Canadians we decided to allow the Americans to play but the yanks all got picked last

And you cry about referees. Canadians get a 5 minute major just for showing up at the rink from the Olympic refs.

Gotta love "the original Donald".

What makes the pucking sport so endearing to me is the absolutely blue collar aspect of it all. Why those douche nozzles will sit around and watch the fake wrestle mania BS is beyond me when there are hundreds of Canucks (actually) rumbling on TV every night of the season.

I think they just need some well endowed ladies in bikinis to announce the periods.

I sure would like to see the Caps keep going but the Lightning have been playing better. The Caps just seem to be a different team than the one that came into these last 3 games. Wazzupp with that?

Those "hapless" Bruins seem to enjoy winning on the road. Which is a good thing for them since they are spotting everyone home ice advantage.

Lightning are playing "Playoff Hockey"....the Caps aren't. It's just that simple. :p
Give it a coupla hours Howie. The Caps ain't out of it yet!

:****:
Good to see the ONLY Capitals' fan on the Eastern Seaboard has checked in!! :p :p :p

Do you HONESTLY think they can win 4 straight??? Not a chance!
