Well, folks -
Been a rough 5-6 months in my world - almost lost the FJR due to a financial downturn - but now that seems to be behind me. Hope it stays that way.
So let's get down to business farkling this damn thing, shall we? I have a 2000-mile riding adventure planned with daughter Lauryn one week from today... and I don't have so much as a Powerlet outlet installed for the electric vest. That **** needs to change, or I will freeze my *** off running throughout the night in the High Desert of central Oregon next week!
So I'll start by moving over the classic Widder electronic controller from the Gen I clutch reservoir to the Gen III clutch reservoir:
This vintage Widder controller has a
lot of history... it has sat atop the clutch reservoirs of two different Honda ST1100s, two different Gen I FJR1300s, and now takes up duty on the Gen III.
Now heat adjustment is inches away from the free clutch hand...
This was the easy part... the trick for this farkle is placement of the Powerlet outlet attached to this Widder controller... unlike Gen I and II, the GenIII cowling near the left knee lacks a lot of the flat surface area the previous generations had, so placement of the outlet needs to be carefully considered. That's this weekend's adventure.
Also up soon on the farkle hit parade - installing the Givi topcase rack.
