I will not dignify the above photo of my anatomy with a quote repost but I would point out I was helping one of the other attendees at the time. This just proves the old axiom:

No good deed goes unpunished

Obviously the liberation effort is not going well with images of butt cracks and the UK's impending exit from the EU. :D

I was going through my photos this morning and came across a few from the Harley shop that fixed my Smuggler that some may find interesting. Back from the AMF days....

FJR's have been rolling out of the parking lot since 5AM or earlier making their way back to their homes. In the meanwhile the Great White North Liberation Army heads for Glacier National Park this morning.

Don't know you, but your reputation suggests this is an activity undertaken by the Great White North LIBATION Army. Maybe that explains why the US has assembled very few defense forces ....

Ahem.

Be careful with that thing looks like a weapon of mass destruction to me.

Not only will on work on Canadians, but I would expect a lot of collateral damage from it.

Red Lodge to Glacier

After saying our goodbys to everyone we headed out of Red Lodge and travelled north towards Glacier National Park. At the start of Montana Hwy 191 we stopped at the Fort for gas and saw my first Tesla Charging Station....

Somehow this town border sign seems rather perverse....

Ray wanted to stop here to see if any of the cougars would be around that evening....

DSC_0358-L.jpg

We arrived at the east end of Glacier National Park only to find for some reason the World's Largest Purple Wooden Spoon....

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ Pie!!!!!

glacier2-L.jpg

After successfully entering and exiting Niehart (in a clean, wholesome family way) we celebrated with some Huckleberry Pie....

Fontanaman will be happy to know the local beer was not swill....

This morning we go over the Going to the Sun Highway on Logan Pass however there was a lot of emergency vehicles that went up the pass late in the afternoon and I just hope it was not a rock slide.

After seeing the Army of the great white north in action, I am confident that all future encroachments can be handled by having the Girls Scouts opening up numerous cookie selling booths along the great Army's path. This will slow their progress and result in long naps, during which the Army's canes and walkers can be removed, thus rendering them immobile.

This plan will fail miserably if they try to sell me those god awful vanilla cookies. However if it is the chocolate mint cookies then all bets are off....

Haha...I had a blast riding with Ray, Bill and Jeff. The Mexicans with sweaters and the Mexican really hit it off.

As for the gasoline, well, what can I say? I'm an *****! We fueled up and I put too much in. Then we went to eat and left the bikes in the sun. I put mine on the centre stand to reduce the fuel running out of the vent. We ate and once back outside, fuel was pushing out. I figured I'd just release a little pressure. I had no idea it was THAT pressurized. Oops!! That was a self correcting mistake. I'll never do that again. Jeez!! The amount of fuel that came spewing out was amazing. It's been about 20 years since I've had a face full of gasoline, so I probably had it coming. Haha...Ray, Bill, and Jeff were quick with rags to start the cleaning process.

I'm sure the restaurant patrons were wondering why I was walking back in with a flushed face and smelling like a gas station. Dork!

I have no idea WTF you're blabbering aboot, AJ, but it sounds like a good story or two.

It looks like the Canadians are claiming the Logan Pass Visitor Center right aboot now. They're lucky - it's in the mid-60's up there right now. When Sooze and I were there on July 14, 2010, it was in the 40's.

Today i was on the Going To The Sun highway a couple of hours behind the Great White North Liberation Army. I did not see the Army or any signs of liberated US citizens. You'd think some townsfolk would be out celebrating but nothing on this Monday was out of the ordinary.

We were too busy hiding the bears and the mountain goats from the Yankee Hordes at the Visitor Center in Logan Pass to liberate any of the local citizens.

Our first stop was just after entering the park when Crazy Ray our navigator had to stop to Crazy Glue his crown back on....

I do have photographic proof that we were indeed in the area however. I will let the photos speak for themselves since nothing I could say would add to the fantastic vistas in the park. On the East slope heading up....

There was still some snow left at the Visitors' Center...

DSC_0387-L.jpg

Some were able to find enough snow to get in some turns....

DSC_0388-L.jpg

Across the road crossing the snowfield was a Grizzly with her cub. There were some mountain goats further up the slope which are not visible in the photo...

Not sure if I was shooting Jeff or some of the other wildlife in this photo....

DSC_0410-L.jpg

We then started our descent towards West Glacier....

On leaving the park we headed west along Hwy 2 and made it as far as Newport, WA. I was feeling some strong vibrations under braking and thought the steering head bearing might be working loose. Ray was thinking it may be a bent rotor so I let him take the bike for a test ride in town....

AJ will be happy to hear the the long arm of the law finally caught up with the scofflaw. 50 in a 25 going the wrong way on a one way street. The cop is smiling because he thinks he just apprehended a master criminal. Jeff & I were not sure if our credit card limit was high enough to get Ray out of the can if he got carted off. Somehow Ray got off with a warning but I learned two things from this incident.

  1. Ray does an excellent impersonation of a Senior Citizen.
  2. Ray was doing me a favour by testing my bike which is further proof of the axiom I quoted earlier in this report which is:
No good deed goes unpunished.

I will be dining out for years on this photo. I told Ray I would have my revenge.
