I forgot to mention that I had my own interaction with one of the locals when he caught up to me just before the motel and started yelling and flipping me the finger after I had passed him earlier. I did not engage him since I did not know if he was armed. I just let him express himself and be on his way.

I think I know what happened. Being this is Washington State and has basically made weed legal I believe our lad was higher than a kite and though he had just attained light speed when in fact he was doing 10 mph. I then interjected reality when I passed by on my little FJR and it blew his mind.

That's my story and I'm going with it.

50 in a 25 on wrong way street and Ray gets a warning. That conversation with the officer, and he is freaking smiling, must have been priceless to witness. I'd pay to see the performance.

Did you get the bike trouble sorted out?

Almost positive the steering head bearing is loose. I have the All Balls Tapered Roller Bearings and it just needs a little adjustment. We are making arrangements with someone from the PNW crew to effect repairs. You need some special tools that we don't have with us.

Due to a change in the situation at home we are extending our attack further afield and will now add Crater Lake to our list of planned conquests. This will now delay our return to Spearfish which is very good since I was not looking forward to being anywhere near Mt Rushmore on July 4th. Our planned ride in the Black Hills should now be less congested.

If this ride report were a TV show, I'd watch it.

Sons of Anarchy meets Red Green ....
narrated by the McKenzie Brothers. Thank goodness they're not liberating the Southland!

<I am envious of the adventure and the adventurers.>

50 in a 25 is nuttin.... mainly cuz u 'nuckians are reading your speedo still in Klicks! (note to Willie, signs posted are in MiPS!) :)

And Ray does not impersonate a senior citizen.

Now to the correct stuff... your pics, simply beautiful! I loved Glacier and would revisit is a heartbeat. Keep it coming!... you frozen tundra adventurers.

What special tools do you need? I'm in Helena; have a lift and the tools needed to adjust the steering head bearing on a GEN III.

What is your ETA in Spearfish Ray or Billy, want to make sure I can ride the ride with you guys.

I'll have my new tires on Ray, so you can lead from the back.

AbercrombieFJR tells me the Hill City to Keystone road is a favorite of yours but that you ride it like an Old Woman - JSNS

Fantastic report(s) and pictures Bill.

Thanks so much for taking us along again.

There is no reason to insult the rider skills of old women on this forum.

The invasion force just departed after completing emergency repairs on one of their transports. From the sounds of it, they had a good day after Ray's LEO encounter and completed a nice run over North Cascades.

It was good to see the bums again!

Those danged Washington small town cops. I was VERY clear: "If you catch that Canadian, throw him in the can." Turns out when he met Ray, his age threw him off. He thought I might have meant, "If you catch that Canadian, help him find the can."

Oh well, the Dakotas are still promising.

That was quite the story all right, as told by Yamafitter....... need I say more. Let's just say the facts got mixed up, as I understood the story, the wrong way on a one way was just an oopsie that got corrected immediately. Also there was no proof of any 50 in a 25. Look at the picture. Billy got his boots off so he could claim he wasn't riding. Do I look like I have riding gear on, no. The LEO is smiling big time, due to the wit and charm of the old guy, and as a result the true guilty party was given a warning. All I'll say is for the moment, I'll stick to the "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". BTW, I have some hip pocket material should I have to use it.

Ray is attempting to use the deny, deny, deny strategy. He might be able to fool some of the people some of the time but Jeff & I were there. Who you going to believe, the honest journalism of the original poster of this thread or some senile senior citizen I ask you.

Newport to Monroe

As George mentioned earlier the Great White North Liberation Army made our way over the last barrier in our way to the coast, the Northern Cascades along Washington Hwy 20....

There was also a nice waterfall near the same pullout...

As the descended from the summit I remembered a nice lookout of Diablo Lake from my previous time in the area...

Not Ross lake. Diablo Lake. :D

My god, 20 through the Cascades is a torture not to be endured.

A great torture!

There is one word that comes to mind for this ride - Epic!
