Last week, Dr. Rich (Yes, that guy) and I rode down

to meet the SoCals and Zonies in Monterey.

It's just a couple of hours from here, so we first rode

over to the South Bay/San Jose/Santa Clara area (I get confused)

to have breakfast with a bunch of other forum people, (Tyler, and Brodie, and Silent,

the inimitable FJRONAMISSION),

at Alice's Restaurant in the green, rolling hills south of San Francisco.

Then, it was straight (down a winding road ;) ) to the coast and south along the Pacific,

through Santa Cruz and Monterey and Carmel, and on down until we intercepted

Beemerdons, and Fairlaner, and ynotride, and John Dumke, and Big D.

Then we all zoomed back to Monterey for dinner and bowling with Tyler, who'd driven

down to join us.

Got all that?

Here then, are my point-and-shoot, low-quality, poorly-composed images.

Good morning, Dr. Rich!

Rolling toward the Bay, in Dr. Itch's favorite lane...

... and into the City.

Down the peninsula...

Weekend traffic is MUCH lighter.

IMG_8147copy.jpg

And out into the South Bay sticks.

IMG_8165copy.jpg

This must be the place.

There's sumpin' you don't see every day.

IMG_1985copy.jpg

Okay. Everybody act casual.

Silent and Brodie.

FJRONAMISSION!

Tyler and Rich.

Family outing.

IMG_2001copy.jpg

Silent, Brodie (6'6" couldn't quite fit in there), Rich, and FJRONAMISSION.

And tolerant Tyler at the wheel.

(Tyler, how do you put up with these *******s?)

IMG_2015copy.jpg

And on down the coast with Rich.

A stop at the Coast Gallery.

Look! A weenie bush!

IMG_7638copy.jpg

We soon intercepted the boys from down south,

and turned back north with them.

Unidentified (ynot)rider.

Master Don Stanley, riding sweep.

A rare photo. Fairlaner smiling and not giving me the finger.

Where's the throttle?

Tyler, peeking out of the geezer forest.

bj djbill. He almost disappears when he wears black. :D

IMG_8212copy.jpg

Full of food, and half-drunk. Hey! Let's go bowling!

Big D and John Dumke pretending to be bowlers.

The next morning, after a continental blech-fest,

Rich and I bid our forum friends goodbye, and headed north.

Rich chose to burn straight for home, while I meandered up along the coast,

enjoying the sights and taking a few more pictures.

Barb? Are you stalking me?

IMG_2041copy.jpg

Sat here for a good long while, contemplating life,

and the coming of spring, and what the future may hold.

...And whether I should pick up a six-pack on my way home, or go back out later.

The sky was darkening, and rain was expected later in the day, so I reluctantly

pointed my mighty Feej for home. Hate getting wet.

Thassit! Thanks for taking the time.

See y'all on the road this summer.

As always OM, excellent report and pix. ALways love the perspective of shots you take.

Looked like a fun time... if Fairlaner, and the SoCalites weren't there. :p

Your pix made me feel like I was on the ride. No head shots without helmet of you??? porque??

I'm afraid (and please take this personally, Simon) that there's a lack of trust.

...Photoshop in the wrong hands, and all. ;)

(helemt? A bit early on the bottle -- even for you?)

:D
errr, uggghhhh. Never mind. Hic, it's fixed..... burp!

Great report and great pics. Sounds like a really fun ride and social time. In the 17 years of riding I haven't done very many group rides for some strange reason. I guess life gets in the way sometimes. I really want to make group rides more of a priority! Especially with other feejers!!

Very nice Thanks for posting. It was nice meeting you and look forward to the next trip.

Great pics and all, really.

BUT - didja ya get the sixpack on the way home, or go back out for it??! Cripes, don't leave me hanging like that.

...great pics all the same though...

Who's the FNG in the el-cheapo IEOHS helmet?

IMG_7659copy-1.jpg

Very nice, Michael. A niggle - Might have been better without the cars (why do I suddenly feel like a "Kodak Tourist" pestering Ansel Adams about proper shot composition?).

Behaving ourselves, are we?

Great pics as usual OM. It was nice seeing you and Doc and meeting Tyler for the first time. Great ride, I love riding the coast. You just never get tired of seeing the ocean and all the twistes. Good folks, good times!

"D"

The darkening part is also expected later in the day.
You write your own stuff, huh Mike?

IMG_8195copy.jpg
Technically I wasnt across the double yellow. Does that count?
Um. YES!

BUT - didja ya get the sixpack on the way home, or go back out for it??!
On the way home. Red Hook Original Ale. Prescription. ;)

Behaving ourselves, are we?
Yes, madjack. And I WILL be for at least another three years.

Crime does not only not pay. It costs dearly.

I've come to realize that insurance companies have NO sense of humor.
