OK, I've owned my '05 for a year now. My tank is starting to look really shitty after scratching every outer garment I own across it's beautiful blue surface.

I don't want no stick-on faux carbon fiber doody.

I don't want a magknight (been there and done that with my VFR). Got rid of it fast as I could.

All I really want is a nice vinyl 1/2 tank bra like I now have on my viffer. Nothing all fancy schmancy. Just a nice black bra.

No, Not that one though that is quite attractive.

I'd like something like the one I have on my ole red honda. Just a Plain Jane 1/2 tank bra.

I've seen some leads to second skin, but when I go to their web site all I see are faux carbon dealios and references to "colored" bras that are not pictured.

Why are there no bras for our beloved Feejers? Our girls need support too!!

I put some of the tankslapper kit on my tank and haven't had it come off or anything yet. I bought the full kit and only used about 3/4 of it.

How about REAL carbon fibre?

What was wrong with the MagKnight bra, if I may ask? I was looking at purchasing one on the recommendation of a pal at work.

Yes, second look would be the top of my list right now. But does anyone have a picture of what the 2005 bra looks like? It says "Blue" or "Blue w/ embroider" but they have no pictures. I don't think I'd want one that was a solid blue vinyl. yech.

[edit] Forgot to mention that I have tried to contact them via email. No joy...

My tank's paint is already scratched up from zippers, so a tankslapper wouldn't help much (too little too late)

The one I had for my VFR was "faux carbon fiber". I'm kinda predisposed against FCF just on the principle, but also on looks. That one also never laid flat on the tank, always had some "corners" that were loose. The other thing about those bras (and this is also true for those flexible magnetic stickers people put on their cars) is you have to peel them up and wax underneath them every so often. If you don't you run the risk that the thing will stick to the paintwork and be a real bear to remove.

If you get any dirt of grit under the magknight you'll actually be grinding it into the paint rather than protecting it as intended.

The MagKnights for the FJR are supposed to match the color of the paint, but the don't match very closely, IMO. Some others that have one for the FJR will likely chime in with direct experience.

I am on my second magnight and am happy with them. The first was color matched silver for the 03 and matched very well and the second one is the fake carbon fiber and it fits well also. The trick to a good fit is patience and heat. I spent an hour or more with a heat gun and in the sun to get a good fit but once it is right then it stays that way. The bike has over 60k on it in all conditions and never a problem with anything getting under it and causing problems. YMMV.

I second the Bagster. Plus you can go with their integrated tank bag or use whatever.

Me likey the black set-up. I actually have one of those on my Pegaso. I assume I could share the bag between bikes if I bought one. (now looking around for a bank to knock off)

I installed the 3M, 8 mil, three piece "tankslapper" kit. Works for me. Can't even see it unless you really look. It's installed with water and baby shampoo. It takes a couple of days for the bubbles to disappear.

I have had the mag knight in carbon fiber look for three maybe four years now with no ill effects. No corners peeling up and no other fadings, peeling etc. I would buy it again. Much better than the tankslapper I had on the FZ1 and the FJR before the Mag Knight.

i hated my magknight. color didn't match ('07) and it didn't stick in the curvy parts, despite following the directions and hints on this board to a t. he did honor a full refund upon return.

still waiting for bagster in the '07 colo(u)r. ( :

Mine fit down perfect and has stayed down with one off/on procedure after initial install. Must have been installer shortcomings.

I love my Bagster also, But i dont think they are available anymore.
I still think you should be able to.

When I ordered mine I went through Bagster's site & inquired on how to purchase in the US. They had one of there reps contact me & the purchase was done through him.

Also you can use this site which looks like they'll except plastic. Prices are in Euros I believe so you'll have to do the conversion.

Hope that helps.
