Hello to everyone on this board. I am the widow who has lost my husband to cancer after purchasing 2 new 06 FJR's. Thank you all so very much for your kind words. Especially to FJRFencer. You are a saint sir. I could not ask for a better friend, though we,ve never met. Biker people are the best in the world.
Rob had a passion for life, he was 70, had ridden for over 55 yrs was a pilot , had an ATV and motorhome and never wanted to quit. His last ride on his FJR he turned down a wrong road (often known as the U-Turn king) and didn't stop. When we caught him he just said he just didn't want to quit. That is how we all remember him.
We did not have any insurance, I do not receive any retirement benefits (as too much age difference between us, rules of corp. America) and I can not draw his social security until I'm 62, I'm 52. So my total income from him has stopped. As we have many toys, we also have many payments. We knew he had cancer, but I would have bought that man the world to enjoy once we knew his time was short. We've been together over 17 yrs and have loved more in that time than many in a lifetime. We've ridden bikes everywhere and enjoyed it so much. I may have to work the rest of my life to pay the bills, but the memories will get me through.
Thanks to FJRFencer I have sold his FJR to a wonderful rider from CA. He and his wife will fly to Al. to pick it up and ride it home in a few weeks when the weather is a bit warmer. Also for sale:
'92 BMW R100GS
Red, fairly new paint, heavy duty shocks and springs, trailer hitch, heated grips, hand guards, saddle
bags, tank bag, etc. It was purchased from a dealership in CO from the service manager. He had gone
through the bike from the bottom up and had done everything you could do to one when we bought it.
We have pulled a Time Out pop up camper with it and have really enjoyed it. I also have a Russell Day
Long leather seat for it I am going to sell separately (new over $600). The bike is in excellent condition
with 44K miles. Will sell for $7500 with the trailer or $5750 without.
'04 BMW R1150RS
Two tone blue, ABS, heated grips, 50 mpg, Uni-Go trailer hitch ($450 accessory), 5,000 miles, saddle
bags. This bike is in show room condition. Price $11,000.
'94 Harley FLHTC touring bike. Has several accessories, beautiful paint (New York police dept. colors). This
was ordered for a Shriners bike. The owner broke his foot in a car accident and we purchased the bike
with 175 miles on it in Nashville, TN. It has a new ignition module, cam, pipes, etc. Runs and sounds
really nice. Beautiful bike. We have a trailer hitch on it and also used it to pull our Time Out trailer. Will
sell for $10,500.
The Time Out trailer is also for sale and can be pulled by any of these bikes. I would sell it separately for $2000. I hope these prices are right. I've had some friends checking for me and said this was what I should ask. I have a closet full of riding gear as well. He had suits, jackets, pants, gloves, helmets, boots. We played, I shopped. Now I have to sell. He was one of the best dressed out there. 6'2" about 230. Most items are XL or 2XL and tall. Boots around 11 and gloves XL. FJR has 1st choice of anything for his kindness, support and much appreciated help during this difficult time. If anyone would like to contact me for any of the items I can be reached at my email
[email protected]. Your offers of support and assitance are so very much appreciated. I will have a difficult time making the payments as we depended on both our incomes, but the good Lord willing I am trying and just hope I am able to sell enough to keep from losing it all. Thank you all so much and God Bless each and everyone of you, Rhonda (2FJRs4US)
