Just a thought about tank venting...

When you lift the tank, the various vent hoses come up as well.  When the tank is lowered, they may kink instead of dropping back as they should.  Sometimes, the vent hose has to be tugged back into place.  Perhaps this is the problem???

Thanks Steve.  I ordered one of those gizmos.  Fueling in CA is a pain in the ass. You have to be a contortionist. This should get the attention of fellow riders!!
