If you are a registered WFO-6 Player, you can now add yourself to the WFO-6 Player Map!

All you have to do is enter the GPS coordinates for your home town! You can obtain your GPS coordinates by either lighting up your Tom-Tom or Garmin right there in your driveway, or surf over to google's "brainyzip.com" and enter in your zip code to find your longitude and latitude.

Then just grab your WFO Registration number (from the confirmation email that was sent to you after you completed the form), and surf over to this page:

https://wfo.fjrtech.com/yourWFOentry.cfm

Enter your number and press the "Retrieve!" button. Your WFO record should then be displayed... now click the accordion pane that says: "Mileage/Google Map Coordinates" (pointed to be black arrow below):

Once you enter the numbers, go to the bottom pane that says "Submit Form!". Submit the form, and your data is updated in the database. Done! :D

You may have to clear your cache/refresh the WFO Map page to see your new entry. If you have manage to misplace your WFO Registration number, there is a link on the "yourWFOentry" page where you can enter your email address to retrieve your WFO number.

Have fun! B)

I'm on the map! I also corrected my email address. To the Paypal address. Hope that doesn't screw things up!

George, it looks like you moved from Washington to Michigan. What up with that?

I have been trying to update my location, but it does not appear to like the numbers I have thrown at it... :dribble:

Might be my exceptional computer skills creeping through! Can you help?

It looks like the coordinates you entered:

Lat: +50.4407

Long: -113.5712

Might be a little off. Try entering:

51.172500° Latitude

-114.261944° Longitude

And don't put a (+) sign in front of the positive Latitude number.... but do put a (-) sign in the Longitude number

There's a pretty good chance people are trying to enter degrees, minutes, and seconds from some source they have. One has to enter them as decimal degrees.

Here's a handy converter.

Now you all know what I've been doing behind the scenes with the forum member map ;) Rest assured I'm hoping one day (probably months from now) to get with Warchild and help revise the member map to an option like this.

Thanks so much WC and Ig!!!!! The spousal unit and I are on there, funny though initially we were separated by about 100km, is there a hidden message there? :)

Only if you look at the space between you and your spousal unit and you and find something like this:

If so, ride the opposite direction as quickly as the FJR will take you!

OMG!!!! ROTFLMAO :shok:

That is waaaaay too funny, I guess I will have to hold off on showing her this thread! I still can't get us to show up at the same location....I am doomed! :lmaosmiley:

No, it's just a bigger test for you all. We southerners (relative to you anyway) figured finding a Canadian website for coordinate conversion would be as easy to find as a dogsled taxi to the pub. We also figured you all still use a compass and sextant instead of GPS's anyway.

Hey! I happen to run a dogsled taxi service! And I'm always dropping off and picking up at the pub; I especially love having Southern US visitors as passengers, they tip really well after I take them by this place where people pile old furniture and give them a sob story about my igloo melting... :cold:

MS Streets & Trips will give you the lat & long, if you don't have it Mike PM me your location and I'll e-mail the coordinates you need.

I went there and put in my coordinates and submitted and the screen froze up. Had to hit cnt/alt/delete just to get computer going again. Logged back into MSN>FJRForum>WFO clicked on the players tab and darned screen froze again. Tried several times and all I get is a freeze. So I can't bring up the Players screen at all.

This happens sometimes when I click on an embedded e-mail address whatchamacallit, so not really isolated quirk. Java-script thing or what, don't know. Probably a software issue on my damned computer. Oh well, I'll know who's going when I get there

Clear your browsers cache - worked for me. But I'm still getting script errors on the players page. :dntknw:

Not sure, but you talking about deleting links in 'History'? I used to do that a lot when I used Windows 98 and earlier versions. I played around and discovered that I could view History and delete links via the pulldown menu up top of this page (View>History). Deleted last three weeks, so I'll see if that works. Otherwise, might be a firewall issue.

++++EDIT++++

OK, clearing out the 3 week history worked. I didn't see my balloon (NAME/LOCATION) so maybe I put in coordinates wrong and I'm in China or even Tierra Del Fuego :dribble: I'll have to try that again.

I would volunteer to put a database in like past years, but I would have to have access, I would have to know what I'm doing, and let's face it, I'm to lazy :p
