Put on the tankslapper 3M Kit (huge pain in the ass!), Centech fuseblock, Techmount stem mount, GPS, wired up my GPS and heated gear, wired up my admore kit and Whelan TIR-3 along with the strobe, removed the Cerulean Silver top plate from my V46 and re-installed the stock Givi black panel.

Previously installed my Aerostitch bar end helmet locks, chrome nubby helmet post in the clutch side hole (very handy!), Garauld Hwy Pegs and Givi mount.

I'm almost all done moving **** over from the 04 to the 13. All that remains are the Hella Micro-DE Xenons (that will be a huge pain in the ass given the lack of underhood room on the 13!) and wait for my new Russell to come in (goes into production tomorrow, got my fingers crossed it shows up before EOM).

Actually did this last week but been too busy to post but while checking my tire pressure noticed black splooge all over my right fork and wheel. Didn't even realize I had a leak, nothing on the floor or any where. So what to do? Order a sealmate ? Na. didn't want to wait for that so I cut a similar shape from an empty plastic soda bottle popped up the fork protector cleaned off the splooge inserted the tool did a couple of rotations around the seal, bounced the front up and down a couple times, checked for fluid and found a small amount. Repeated the process and poof the leak was gone. just need to add some more mile to be sure.

A brand new set of sneakers - Pirelli Angel GT. New EBC HH brake pads all around too!. Tomorrow, I will bleed all the hydraulics and change the air filter. The old girl needs some pamprering - 99,946 miles; should hit 100K tomorrow.

Edit Aug31:

100,055 miles !!

Changed air filter, Bled all hydraulics

Clean, Lube rear brake pivot, side stand and shift linkage

Changed right tail light bulb - think Yamaha could have used another half inch of wire to make getting the socket out just a bit easier?

Back together and (hopefully) nothing more until the winter downtime.

Posting for the whole weekend since it was a lot of FJR happenings for me!

Did a refresher BRC2 with my friends on Friday, then I drove up to Georgetown where I completed Level 1 of the Lee Parks Total Control class. Because of this class I adjusted my suspension for the first time since owning the FJR for a year. Went mostly with the Jeff Ashe settings, but with a small tweak now that I know what the numbers mean. Feels really good. Then today I did the Throttle Spring Unwind to get a little more throttle control. Never would have attempted that on my own except for this forum.

Cleaned and greased the windshield drive unit rails, found the outside rails had never been greased. The shuddering and screeching sounds were getting annoying, even after disabling the auto retract feature.

Thanks to kaitsdad's excellent gen2 tutorial, it was much easier than expected. I'll be making that a regular winter maintenance item.

Tutorial found here: Click

Mounted and balanced a set of PR3's and installed back on the bike. Cleaned up some parts on the bike while the wheels were off that we're easier to access. Still waiting on The McCruize throttle cable from Spoiled Biker.com was in the mailbox when I checked tonight so I have that to install before a test ride and then it will be time to prep for EOM.
Working on some routes to and from Maggie Valley.

Edited - cable finally found its way to the frozen tundra of the Great White North.

Well I have my front PR2 mounted up and thanks to Fred for the extra hints. Before filling with air I threw it up on the balancer. Shurer than **** it was way off. So we marked the heavy side and put it back on the NoMar and spun the tire. AHHHHHH, much better now after checking again. Filled it with air and balanced it. Took less weight than the previous tire and was dead on.

Now after my cup of coffee the front forks are next.

Wish me luck,

Dave

New rubber! As always, mounted and balanced by yours truly. Also wired up my radar detector.

Also new tires (BT-23 GTs) and TMS installed. Best Buy visit to get last of the Contour +2's available. Camera, extra profile mounts, and suction-cup mount for $260 including tax.

I had a little bit of struggle with the front forks but after reading the instructions again I figured out why. Still not done and will be going at it again momentarily. Hope to get it buttoned up today. Did you know that sears doesn't carry a 6 point socket in the 26mm range. GRRRRRRRRR. So off to Auto Zone and guess what? They have one.

More to come later,

Have a great day and get out there and ride cause right now I am out of luck with no front wheel.

Dave

Right headlight was out so I decided to change both. The right one took a half hour with scrapes and bruises on my hands. The left one took about 4 minutes.

Sounds about right, good job! Out of curiosity what bulbs did you put back in? Tried them out at night yet? Whatcha think?

I changed the oil and filter. Then it rained. How typical is that?
