Can I be your Dad too?

You would get tired of telling me the same thing over and over and me not listening. He does.

FWIW, I am working a 2 week string of nights and went straight from work to Dad's yesterday morning with the front seat in my top box and the back seat bungied to my back seat. I was fortunate that my Mom felt sorry for me and fed me breakfast.

I took a gamble on ordering that burgundy top on the seat and I am not happy with the way it looks. It really is better than the pics show but I wish I had done something different. Pop loves the damn thing. I want to send it back and get it done in black or gray or...

His birthday is Monday. He does not know it yet but there is a Tourmaster Transition Series 3 in a box on my bedroom floor just waiting...
I think it looks great, even in the pic. Glad your Pop likes it...

Not today, but yesterday, I took off the hardly worn Conti Motion front tire that caused me severe front end wobbling through our entire vacation ride, and replaced it with a half worn BT023GT that I had taken off before CFR Ontario last year. Good riddance to that POS. That's what I get for trying to be so frugal. ;)

Also figured out a better way to seal up my LR4 LED lights which were getting fogged up from rain riding. Simple really, just double up the o-rings, one on each side of the clear lens. Should work fine.

That seat looks fantastic on that bike! The best choice you could have made. Good job.

That's kinda what I was thinking...that seat works well on the 07.

I think Seth was in a hurry when he did my seat...It doesn't have any "LAAM" tag's on it.

Gave the old girl a new pair of shoes this weekend and cleaned her up all nice ready to take out for a ride. I haven't checked the mileage yet on the last set of PR2's I just took off. I am guessing it is neer 20K since I have gone two seasons with them. Two rides to Tennessee and a ride out to Ohio plus commuting everyday. The ODO is currently at 68,962 miles. Honestly I think I could have easily put on another 1 to 2K more. They were wearing evenly and just hitting the wear strips. I may be taking the bike to Virginia this month so I don't need to take any chances.

Rode her, 2-up, with 4 other local riders down to South-Central Indiana. Touched pegs once on the right side and found out that the WynPro sidestand pad hits before the pegs on the left side...not a real confidence-inspiring situation since the sidestand does not give. Looks like I'll have to remove it and only slide it on when I may need it for soft/gravel parking situations.

It never did on the first gen. Not that I am a big peg drag-er, but when it has happened it was a peg not the BigFoot. Need to look at this as that is a farkle I am looking to add. Having a big foot on was a big winner in the past.

The ES has a little less ground clearance so it is a potential issue. Without the pad, I could drag a peg confidently and use all of the rear tire side tread. With the pad, I still have about a 1/4" strip on the left side.

There have been a couple of reports in the past about scrapping the big foot. 98% of folks will do fine and never scrape. It may be a combination of roads rider and bike. I know my peg feelers will hit first before anything else does. We will see how the GenIII shakes out. So far you are the first to mention it. Fred send me your address again since I don't keep it in a rolodex anywhere. I can get one out to you to test out.

Thanks, Dave! I do not expect anything but am interested in finding out if others have this same issue. Note that I also have Delkevic slip ons installed in place of the oem exhausts, which may be causing the sidestand to stop at a lower height than stock.

That might be what's going on. I didn't think of that one. Some exhaust systems may be slightly different. I wonder if you shave a little off the rubber stop. I think it is a good 1/2 to 5/8 thick. That might alleviate the situation. Just a suggestion.

Replaced rear brake line;

refilled brake fluid and attempted to bleed the air out of the lines with just Speed Bleeders;

got frustrated after pumping the pedal about a gazillion times; bought a MityVac and was done in short order;

worried about sluggish return on pedal, consulted forum using the search function;

found a great description for brake pedal PM lube (thanks, AJ).

No rubber stop on my Delkevics, only the connector pipe and a metal "V" shaped piece that keeps the center stand from retracting too far up.

You are correct. The rubber stop that Dave was thinking of is for the center stand, not the side.

The only limit to how high the side stand tucks up when retracted is in the hinge bracket itself, so I suspect that isn't the problem.

Well, it was yesterday and the day before, but still...

I finally got my new Roadsmart IIs put on. Because of work and other stuff, day one was taking the wheels off and dropping them off at my dealer. He mounts them for $25ea, so not too bad.

Then I went home and spent some time cleaning up the calipers. Took all of them apart, cleaned them and lubed them. They sure felt different when I put them back together.

The tires were done in 2hrs, but I had to get to work, so I stopped by and picked them up just before closing. They rode around with me for the next 6 hours.

Yesterday, I put the wheels back on and put everything back together before taking her for a ride.

Dayum!! She ran well. I was just kinda messing with stuff and realized I was doing a buck-10. The high speed vibration I was getting is totally gone. I was hoping that was the toasted front tire, but I wasn't sure. Now, I'm glad I do not have to replace the plugs. Sweet.

Gotta wash her up, scrub in the tires properly and get her ready for the trip to EOM and back. Should come out to about 4500 miles, so we'll have some serious fun. I also think I'm liking that 190/55/17 I put on the rear. It looks huge...lol.

Now I can't wait!!
