Rode Vanocker Canyon, Nemo Road, 385 North, 85 S and Spearfish Canyon, in search of "Colors" found very little, the leaves are just turning beige and falling off :( .

Beautiful day and a great ride, just missed a flock of turkeys in the road too. Sun was low and the damn birds surprised me.

I rode my FJR today. It has been an unusual year for me in that I have not ridden most of the summer.

No particular reason, just been doing other things.

Lucky you. Usually there's a lone ****** doing 55 in the HOV when I try to use it. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Uncle Hud" data-cid="1259463" data-time="1442429294">

Rode it to work: 13.6 miles according to the super-accurate trip meter. Motos have access to the HOV lanes in downtown Atlanta, so I really enjoyed blowing by the other four lanes of cars for the last 5 miles at 70 mph on cruise control.

Marie and I took the bikes out for a last minute check, before heading out for EOM later this week. Good thing too, as we lost communication on the Sena's ( she couldn't hear me). Got home and found the connection coming apart at the connectors under my cheekpads. Put some electrical tape on it to hold it in place.

No rain today, even with Vic washing, waxing, and detailing his bike. ;)

I mounted my front tire 3 times today. After the first attempt I noticed a small piece of plastic on the floor. Said to myself I wonder where that came from. So I kept going put air in the tire and threw it up on the balancer. Spun the tire and I heard noise rumbling around inside. WTF over. So I broke the bead and removed the tire off the rim. Found another piece of plastic inside the tire. "somebitch" so I looked at the pry bar and guess what. It was broken off on the end. "Dammik" No biggy they gave me a couple of extras when I bought the NoMar. So I went ahead and mounted the tire again. Balanced it and as I was taking it off the balancer I noticed the arrows. DAMMIK, DAMMIK, DAMMIK!!! They were going the wrong way. So guess what! I had to take the dam tire back off and do it all over again.

That's how my day went,

Dave

Well, at least it was the front tire and not the rear one.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that kind of **** happens to. Sorry man!!

Changed the engine oil and put on a new filter. Changed the final drive oil as well. The guy at the local big box auto store said he had never heard of "crush washers" when I asked him where they might be. The guy was kinda a smart -#%% about it. I described it and he corrected me emphatically calling it a "drain plug gasket". We don't have any crush washers here. On the package it said crush washer. So I picked up 2 packages and tossed him one ask I made my way up to the counter. Nothing needed to be said as I paid and left.

So ready for EOM. Tomorrow I am washing the bike. Might even wax it. But if it rains at EOM , it's not my fault........ I am just trying to Un-do what Vic did.

Not sure if I want to bring the Wolfman Luggage that I scored at CFO in Wisconsin. I really don't need it by it is a cool thing to show off!

Washed my bike today. ..... ha ha ha NOT!. Changed the oil and checked tire pressure. Put on a sticker or 2. Contemplated putting on a new front tire. Nah. Maybe when I get home from EOM.

Changed the oil in the truck. .Ya believe it or not, this is FJR related because I'm towing the bike down to EOM.

I'm so ashamed.

Put new grip buddies on the FJR Sunday.

Saturday put grip buddies on the wife's new to her BMW F800ST and installed powerlet electrical pass through bulkhead in her tankbag so she can charge devices while riding. Hoping her new windscreen arrives in the next couple days.

Hope to load routes into 2 Garmins tonight and start packing for EOM

Steve,

It's all ok, as long as you're bringing both bikes...
Nope just the FJR.

Line is coming with, the chances of running into rain/cold and her with just enough gear to get by... so, were hauling.

Since Line is coming, I won't get the chance to ride the trailbike. Think about it, I ditch her at the hotel for a day of boonie-bashing and I'll be single in a hurry.

On the plus side, I get to go for a ride with my friends in WV. How awesome is that!

Rode it to work today,

then played hooky for 1-1/2 hours to meet philjet09. He snapped a Tour of Honor photo of our Statue of Liberty across the street from the Capitol (and parked in the Secretary of State's reserved space to do so). We shook hands, failed to sync our Senas, and did 20 miles of I-20 towards Alabama -- the ugliest section of freeway in the entire southeastern USA.

Enjoyed it sir, and thanks. Playing hooky is always a fun idea!

(No photos, because I am convinced he flies jets for the FBI.)

New tires, T-30 front, PR4 rear. The existing tires look good for another 2K miles, but with EOM on the calendar this week, I figure, have tire-changer, can install and use the old ones again. This was first use of the Mo-Jo modified Harbor Freight changer, and NoMar lever. All worked flawlessly, and for a bonus, I even mounted the tires in the right direction. Added an X-Grip mount too.
