Rode to work again today, I-405 Northbound from I-90 to the 520 jammed up again this morning. Been that way every day since the express toll lanes opened on I-405 starting at NE 6th in Bellevue. I hope this is just a temporary thing because it adds about 5 minutes to my normal 15 minute morning commute. Plan to flush/bleed the brakes and clutch Saturday, go over the entire bike and check all the fasteners, tire pressures. clean and lube the front brake and clutch pivot bushngs. Regular Saturday morning with nothing planned recreation time. Maybe take Ming, my Bengal cat, for a walk early afternoon.

At the Hooterville tech day things were slow so my bike decided to fall over so we could work on something.

Hud- Would this be on the new dash? If so, we require pictures.

Nothing. Came back from EOM, unloaded it off the trailer and stuffed it in the garage. I really need to wash it.

Simple story. Bike falls over and goes boom. Some scratches and oh yeah -broke the left hand mirror stay under the fairing

Yikes sorry to hear that Griff!! And to stay on topic, I, like Uncle Hud finally installed a gps the other day! After riding with you and Wheaton up to Hud's RTE I realized it was time. So far so good!

Wednesday: My brand new GPS committed suicide by jumping off the bike at 70 mph on GA 400 ....... the night before I left for Hooterville. Oh well.

Saturday: Rode my bike nekkid in SE Missouri. (Without bags. First time. She looked hot.)

escapefjrtist, ahchiu, Curly Joe and a few other folks helped a 87 year old fellow get a long ride on a motorcycle off his bucket list.

I think the last time he was on a motorcycle was in Japan after the war.

Twas a great 210 mile, three pass day.

I installed a slightly used Gen 3 shock on my gen 1 bike. Easy install. Big improvement in handling. The 'pogo' over bumps is gone, rear feels very planted now. Time to dial in the rebound.

Is it weird that my KLR650 forum has a thread titled exactly the same? "What did you do to your KLR today?"

Strange question - anyway....

I kicked my FJR today, cause it wouldn't start.

I am charging the battery so I can give it another go at getting it started. Has anyone ever tried starting fluid. I don't want to blow a hole in the pistons trying.

I wouldn't use starting fluid! Unless there's something wrong - fuel delivery or spark - it WILL start. Keep the attempts to 10 seconds or less to prevent cooking your starter. If there is a problem with fuel or spark, starting fluid wouldn't help anyway.

Changed the engine oil/filter and rear drive oil. Replaced the battery with a Motobatt AGM, then greased and re-torqued the steering head bearings.
