Rode over to Whitby and found a tire shop that sold me the good lead weights for tire balancing. The courier delivered the tires I ordered so tomorrow I need to get busy and mount up a fresh set of PR3's for EOM (and a set of S12's on the WR for the Calabogie Boogie).

Took my rear wheel to get a new BT023GT fitted. The previous one had done about 5100 miles, had probably another 1000 left before the wear bars, but I'm going away for 1500/2000 miles in a week or so, don't want to risk being treadless.

Refitted the wheel, had to check the balance. I'm pretty sure it's good up to at least 110

.

Got back, checked the wheel was still on (or at least all the fixings were tight). Happened to touch the rear brake disc, it was moderately warm. So I lubricated the rear brake pedal just in case.

Hint: I put the clevis pin in from the back. This will make removing the cotter pin so much easier next time.

Thanks for the heads up, I have my rear wheel at the dealer getting a new PR2 fitted before my fall trip. 8K on the old one, she was bald as Vin Diesel down the center, not great confidence booster.

Anyway, my rear brake has been sticking for the past few weeks and now I have it torn apart I'm going to lube it. Great idea on flipping the clevis for easier access to the cotter key. Man I love this forum! :p

Rotella Syn oil change and a thorough inspection. Leaving for Newfoundland Saturday AM. Was planning on leaving next tuesday but concerned about the two hurricanes churning in the Atlantic. On a ferry in the North Atlantic is not where you want to be in a hurricane! Not to mention a 11 hour ride from Port aux Basques to St. John's.

Took it out and whipped it, whipped it good !! (DEVO, " Whip It " 1980) In the process found a one ton plus rabbit, hung with it for about 30 miles

until I had to get off. How come caged wabbits don't like bikes to follow them ??

Replaced BT021s (with 4004 miles) with PR3s, front and back. I need fresh rubber for my trip next week. I'll put the BT021s back on in a few weeks and run them down locally.

After the PR3's I bet ya trash the BT's
I just may be tempted.

I'm already second-guessing the thought of putting the front BT021 back on. It was scalloping a bit - not enough to really bug me but enough that I could feel and hear it in turns. I should be able to get a bit more out of the rear, at least. We'll see.

Rode the holly hell crap outta KrZy8 today. Redline shifting, big ol' power wheelies, even backed her into two corners. Yep, today was a frisky day! :yahoo:
