Had a wee test ride on the new GenIII today.

Nice!

Ordered a pair of BT 023 GTs ready for a trip to Spain at the end of this month.
Are you taking it by ferry or riding to/through France? What part of Spain are you planning on visiting?

Have fun!
For me, a boring 250-odd mostly motorway trip from Derby to meet up at Plymouth (UK), about 4 hours riding.

Overnight ferry from Plymouth (UK) to Santander (Spain). France would take too long for my companion's vacation allowance, and can be pretty boring if all you're trying to do is get through it. And the local police just love to ticket Les Rostbeefs for the slightest transgression, with heavy on-the-spot fines.

We will be avoiding main roads as much as possible, going for an interesting rather than quick ride, but weather may force us onto the main roads - there could well be snow in some of the places we want to go.

Disembark, ride to Salamanca. Direct route 225 miles.

Salamanca to Zahara, direct route 350 miles.

Two nights here, then to Cordoba, direct route 105 miles.

Two nights here, then to Cuenca, direct route 269 miles.

Cuenca to San Millan de Cogolla, direct route 242 miles.

San Millan de Cogolla to Santander, direct route 141 miles.

Overnight ferry from Santander to Portsmouth (UK).

Say our goodbyes, then Portsmouth to Derby, 190 boring miles.

We expect to ride between 5 and 9 hours each day, depending on weather and our stamina. Maybe some site-seeing on our two-night stays, but most likely riding a loop. I'm guessing somewhere between 2000 and 2500 miles in total.

We've done this sort of thing before, see here and here.

tried to install a motorrad riser, failed missing bolts, looked under the Tank - why not ? will need to when i do a TBS if i ever do it
I did install a new (to me) CalSci Shorty screen I picked up from Gbjbany. AND the 2nd Forum member I have met in real life.

Also turns out I beat him by less than a week to the same bike at the same dealer. He went in trying out different bikes, found the same FJR, BUT it had a SOLD tag on it. Thanks Jeff!

Good guy tho

Cold front came in on my way to work this morning....started at fifty then dropped to bout 40. Windy, too...lotsa fun going round semis on the highway. Didn't have a couple of smokes on Jackie-O. Started my Ecig phase this morning when I ran out of rolling papers yesterday.

"It's the little things..."

The former Miss Lucy Liu had an exciting and well-traveled life in her first ten years. Now that she's entered the Witness Protection Program and relocated from the desert to the coast, she's beginning a new life. Her WitSec handlers get a bit nervous when folks look at her 'face' and recognize her!

All those stickers - memories of some of her previous exploits - belong in an album (or a drawer) at Don's. So after the little breakfast ride on Saturday I went down in the garage with a hairdryer and did a little "cosmetic" surgery on Lucille's face.

After heating and peeling, then it was a careful scrub with Goo Gone, a rinse with Windex and a polish with Lemon Pledge.

For a gal with her... experience, she looks pretty darn good!
