Installed a set of GTYR exhaust and trying them with the baffles out. Definitely more of a howl to her. Risers are next (MV) Looked it over with a buddy and got a question about those before digging into them.

New front tire, front brake caliper clean/lube, swapped brakes pads around, etc. Then rode to work, took the long way around.
Well finally grew a set of balls and did a valve check. Good thing to as #1 intake valves are out of spec. Will need to order up some new shims. Took the opportunity to have a look at the cam chain tensioner and it has the blue dot and feels plenty strong

Guess a visit you my local dealer to order up the shims. Given the freeing rain today and overnight, and the rain forecast for the next week i have some time. Gonna build a 4 tube manometer and do the throttle body sync after putting the new shims in. Should be good to go the upcoming season (assuming spring ever gets here..) having satisfied myself all maintenance is up to date.

How many kilometers on the bike? I didn't need to change any shims until over 150,000 km. Local dealer didn't have what I needed at that time and I did not want to wait to order them so I ended out using carbide wet/dry 240 grit paper to sand the shims down. Works well but takes a little time. While I was at it, I adjusted all of the intake valves to around 75% of the maximum specification. At the last check (250,000 km, I think), I had to adjust one intake - the exhaust valves have always been OK.Well finally grew a set of balls and did a valve check. Rode it to work again this morning, in the rain. Visibility was awful and once I got to work I realized I didn't have my glasses. Talk about an oh shit moment Called home and have a spare pair being dropped off but suspect I may have lost my good ones. I put them on the pillion seat while gearing up and suspect i may have forgotten to put them back on and they might just be lost as i doubt they stayed on the bike during my ride to work.
Day 393 consecutive and over 3k so far this year mileage wise.Not too bad for this early in the season in PA.

Checked the fluids. Pulled the handguards off... I am gone the next two weeks for work. Not much gear required. On the South Georgia coast. Considering taking the FJR. Strongly.

We have a professional traffic engineering conference every year on St Simons Island near Brunswick. I took the bike last time, and will NEVER drive the car again.
There are some terrifically scenic drives between I-16 and Glynn County. Want to see seriously flat and straight? US 341 between Hazelhurst and Baxley. Miles of two-lane in the middle of nothingness. Test your cruise control's top speed. GA 32 between Alma, Hortense, and Brunswick/Glynco has some curves and dips, but still plenty of emptiness. You can also buy Vidalia onions in Vidalia, if you want.
Local law enforcement does not appreciate speeding, but they seem to be parked a lot on Sundays -- when I travel down.

Rode it to work. Last night I installed the Givi rack on top of my new V56 trunk. Hardware seemed pretty chintzy as 2 of the 4 screws should be replaced from the hex key rounding them out before they even tightened up the whole way.

Traveling 2-up now and need the added space. Considering trying some motorcycle camping too so extra carrying capacity could be needed.
Rode in to work this morning but I'll only be here for a couple of hours. Leaving early to go watch my neighbor's son in the Special Olympics. He loves motorcycles and talks to me every day when I get home from work. 26 or 27 years old but severe issues. Mental and emotional level of about 5 or 6 years old. Teddy has been asking me for past 3 years if I would come watch him run. I've always passed because it's a work day but this year I've decided my employer can live without me for a few hours.

Glasses were lost to the wilds. Called eye doctor and as it turns out I'd just gotten them in July last year so I'm not eligible through my insurance until after July 6th. Without insurance they want almost 600 bucks so I dug out all of my old pairs, I found 4 by the way, and picked the pair that seemed to work the best. Set up an appointment for July 9th. Going to try like hell not to do that again!

Rode it to work as usual. Had a great route mapped out in Basecamp hoping to leave after work and hit a bunch of TOH memorials over the weekend but the weather just will not seem to warm up around here.May hold off on that plan for another weekend when it's warmer. Looking at alternatives and maybe go penny hunting for the Pressed Penny Challenge instead.
