Rode mine for the first time since I got home from the Reuben Run, 475 miles of slab down to Portland & back to get my CWL renewed. After riding the S-10 seven months she felt a bit heavy in the front.

You need 04 or newer. 03 was an orphan for rotor diameter. I had a set but I used them to make some swinging targets. My method of recycling.
Thanks for the data, you may have saved me some head scratching. Looks like I need to post in the wanted ads

Washed it for the first time this year, as well as put the bike cover on it (for the second time this year). Garmin install this next week, in advance of non-sucky weather riding.

Changed front tire.

Removed cleaned and lubed slider pins on front brakes while I was at it. Cleaned junk off the retainer clips too.

Swapped inside/outside pads on front left caliper. They were wearing a little unevenly.

Heavy maintenance day!

Dismantled rear brake pedal and lubed it. This is the first time it has been apart after 39K miles on the bike. It was not sticking or dragging but I thought it was time to check it out. To my surprise there was still lube on the shaft and no rust of corrosion. Perhaps this is because I have only ridden the rain a few times. The bike has never been on roads subject to salt or calcium chloride during the winter months. I carefully wash all the exposed areas after each ride.

Replaced the coolant reservoir as a large crack had developed. And changed the coolant. And rode it.
A fair number of these have gone on older Gen II bikes. I replaced the one in my '07 a couple years ago. It became quite brittle. Good thing it is relatively cheap. Something to check anytime you have the side fairing off. Just don't give it a squeeze unless you are prepared to wait until your local dealer can get one in - assuming they don't have in-house stock. When mine cracked, I did a temporary repair using "Seal-All" and fiberglass. It lasted the week until I could get a replacement. (JB Weld wouldn't stick to the polyethylene.)

Rode on 17 miles of gravel and dust behind another rider so new air filter. On both my '06' & '10' I shorten the tube inside the air filter bracket to make the install easier but my '15' came from the factory with the short tube. And yes, I did try to clean the filter but was not happy with my results. 18442 Miles on this beauty.

Also changed the oil and crush washer on the drain plug. And final gear case oil. Still need to flush the brake and clutch fluids and then I'll be ready to go harass Ray in Lapine.

Rode from Fredericton to Dartmouth last night after work (430 km or so). Bike seemed a bit off for handling the last couple hundred kilometers but I attributed it to me being tired. Got up this morning with the intention of doing a coastal ride down the NS south shore but the rear tire was completely flat - nail in tire. Spent the morning trying to find a shop that would fix it. No luck so I bought a sticky string kit. So far so good but I will give it a day before I go very far. See nail that I pulled out - on sticker of kit in the photo.

Was fortunate the nail didn't come out on the highway. I had aired it up to find the source and it rapidly deflated upon removal. Only 1200 km on Roadsmart III - less than 800 miles.

Added a sweet set of LeoVince cans that I got here on the forum. Just need to decide if I want the baffles in or out.

FWIW, my wife was not amused when was revving the bike with no pipes. Even with ear plugs in that was loud. But I hear it can save lives though.

Yesterday I road my FJR 285 miles in search of Fall Colors

TVUEdWw.png

My my how my FJR has changed. For the full video check this out.

The route included all the twisty bits I could find north of Spokane in Destination Hwy's Washington.

Lake Roosevelt.

Lodgepole Pine trees are the predominate tree around here. Deciduous trees are harder to find so searching for fall color is just an excuse to ride. Sometimes there are some great looking Spruce trees or Aspens. Many of the tree had not changed color yet so I was a bit early. There was some snow in the mountains and along the Cedonia to Addy's road today. The bonus today was a complete shock.

New asphalt on the Gifford to Addy's road. I went off route for some of that. Damn near died when I found it- it was so new stripes were absent and motorcycle caution signs still out. A dead deer was found soiling this hollowed black ribbon of righteousness. Most of the roads are chipped sealed around here or are in a state of disrepair so finding new asphalt is damn near and out of body experience. Sorry no photos of this but I was having too much fun and winter gloves make it hard to take moto photos. It was in the 30's and 40' most of the morning.

Pend Oreille River is only only river running south to north in Eastern Washington.

My 09 FJR with 107,000 miles.

That is what I Did On My FJR Yesterday.

Those are great roads, a fellow could spend days wandering that area. I love getting myself lost over there!

Sometime take the Le Clerc Rd out of Newport up to the Sullivan Lk Rd and ride around the lake over to 31. Take 31 back down to 20 and cross over to Aladdin Rd and head N to Deep Lk Boundary Rd to Northport if you don't mind a couple of miles of gravel go north on 25 to the Northport Flat Creek Rd and head south (I have a love/hate relationship with that road). All some darn nice scenery!

I need to stop talking and my butt over there as there is some great riding all around you.
