I try to ride in a state of clear mind and heightened awareness...

^^^^ +1... There are so many great places, if only one? I would say Arkansas would be my choice as well.

Granted I've only ridden in CA but I can't imagine a better state to ride in.
1. HUGE variety of roads to ride on, I've ridden on the coast, coastal mountains, canyons, inland mountains, desert, plains & ranch land ALL ON THE SAME DAY.

2. Year-round riding climate.

3. Bike-friendly laws (lane splitting) and generally relaxed law enforcement.

4. Large and diverse bike culture due to the above.
I believe that sums it up. Oh, wait. "I believe" sounds kinda religious. Mea Culpa.

Gets my vote too. Oops. Voting might imply politics. Sorry.

I've been everywhere, man. Well, lots of places. From Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopah....

I enjoy riding wherever the road takes me, but when the traveling is done... California, Here I Come!

There's no place like home.

Of the states I have been, WV would probably win with PA a close second.

Of the states in my future, I would imagine CA would win hands down.

I think California is also the best. I know of no other state that has ocean coastal, desert, canyons, mountains, slabs, forest roads and year-around moderate climate like this state. I've lived in northern and southern CA and would live there now if money were no object!

ARKANSAS!!!! There's plenty of other states on my bucket list but I don't ever get tired of the natural state. My goal is to retire there or at least have a cabin or camping land.

I have ridden in all 48 contiguous states. I used to think my favorite was West Virginia. It is still at or near the top for me. It has nice twisty roads, light traffic, very reasonable LEO's, and is generally less expensive to visit than most other states.

I enjoy riding in Colorado very much. It has plenty of big sweepers with fantastic views. The problem for me is that I have to cross Kansas to get there.

And Northern California/ Southern Oregon has great riding. The roads are twisty and graded more steeply than West Virginia, and there is less gravel in the road. This could be my favorite riding if I did it often enough to get used to it.

Those would be my top three. I can't really say any one is better than the others. It depends on how I feel at the time. If you ask me tomorrow the list may be different.

Hey All,

From the Heart of the Beautiful South Texas Gulf Coast..............Threre's no place like CALIFORNIA.....just saying.

I like 1st-Utah, 2nd-Colorado, and 3rd-New Mexico.
New Mexico sucks because HotRodZilla lives there. Other than that...
You ever think the riding in NM is so good, we do it on purpose to keep you losers off our roads? Besides, I've been to that swamp you call home. I wouldn't talk big **** from that negative elevation Hell Hole!

See, these personal attacks hurt my feelings. (Never mind that I started it!)

I'll have you know that my (wife's) house is at 64 feet positive elevation. At least I can find enough water to float a full size boat and catch a fish in within a 2 hour drive. And I can ride year round. No snow to hold us back.

I like New Mexico a lot and could happily spend some time there riding. I just want to avoid wherever you are. Unless you are buying lunch...

You are SUCH an ***!! You're lucky I kinda like you! :****:

I am going to vehemently disagree . . . well . . . disagree* with all the people who like California best.

Washington has everything California has, and as an added bonus of Washington does not include Los Angeles.

*I'm a Seattlelite. It's hard for us to get worked up about much.

Everything except Sunshine, and too wet and cold in the Winter, but just my opinion.
