Just a little dusting today but some white stuff in the forecast. We won't have to worry about enough ice for racing on the lake since it is going to a high of -20oC (-4oF) on Saturday.

I got a new Blu-Ray player today that plays both PAL and NTSC formats. I have Closer to the Edge on DVD from when I was at the TT in PAL format. Tested it in the new player and it plays perfectly with 5.1 sound.

I know what I'm doing this weekend.

A real cold snap tonight and tomorrow. It's not as cold as they were claiming it would be in the forecasts last week, talking about "frost" in central Florida. Whatever that is.....

I saw a warning on FB about it:

I thought the weather was nice today, something like 80+/-. Had to sweat a little but the roads were empty.

NICE!

60 here in the Banana Belt, almost all the drift by the driveway has melted. Going to have to do DSP on the lawn tomorrow as the front yard looks quite lumpy as things have emerged from under the snow. Two dogs eat 50# of food a month, it has to go somewhere!

Just finished squeezing another gallon of orange juice courtesy of our backyard citrus grove. Have not had temps cold enough yet this winter to damage the crop. Tomorrow it is supposed to reach 77 and I will be riding the FJR. Unfortunately, it will be to purchase parts to repair the damned camper.

I am no meteorologist, but 60 in Spearfish just does not seem right given that my area is looking at lows in the single digits tonight. 13 currently. Friday's low is -1. Guess that Presidents' Day ride I was proposing ain't gonna happen unless it's on a SKI-DOO.

Funny as it is now, my 10yr old who is a hockey fan asks me yesterday

SON (While holding an 2 quart ice tea pitcher) "How many of these will it take to cover the driveway?"

ME "Why would you want to do that?"

SON "Cause mom said I cant watch the Hawks game tonight"

ME "You know that will freeze"

SON "NO DUH DAD. SO CAN I DO IT?"

ME "NO WAY"

SON "Come on, it will melt later"

Half the driveway is straight ice when I got home from work today.

ME "What's up with the driveway?"

SON "Mom said I could"

Ya, John.
That's what dog owners call Dawn Patrol.
I call it minesweeping. Land mines. But MarcusA, anybody could stay warm hugging that big furry dog of yours.

5 F here this morning.Going to get some cold weather next few days.

About 22 years ago we lived in what passes for mountains in NJ, but it's a lot colder up there! At one point, we had over 3" of ice on the driveway and my pickup was in 4WD virtually all the time. One night it went down to -15F--that's real temp, not "feels like....".
