Rode mine to work at a frigid 67 degrees. Supposed to be 47 for my ride home in the morning. I will probably set my grip heaters to "medium". I have no idea what they would be set on if I had a '16 instead of a '15. Probably the same exact temperature but it would have to be called a different name... Don't know how I will make it all the way home without a 6th gear.
Wow...47 degrees, and no 6th gear...good luck!
Great Zingers Jose y RFH, being snarky Is why we like tus dos Pendejos! JSNS, pinche Cabrones!

Holy crap...45 for my ride in this morning, and no 6th gear...not quite sure how I made it

I'm pretty sure the ship has already sailed on fixing that problem. Now I'm going to have to try to keep up at SEOR without 6 gears...or maybe I'll have an advantage. We'll see.

Well, since you guys sound so concerned about me, yes I did survive the ride in the bone chilling temps this morning. My temp readout showed a low of 46 F. I am certain I would have frozen to death had it not been for the heat given off by the motor. You see, with only 5 gears the motor was literally about to burn up. It gave off so much heat that I was able to survive. Thank goodness that the ride was only 8 and a half miles. I am not sure either of us would have made it much further.

Of course, tonight is another night... Thankfully, only supposed to drop to 57 tonight. Unfortunately, rain tomorrow. Is it safe to ride an FJR in the rain?

That's why my Gen I is the best motorcycle ever made, and will be worth so much more in the future. Antifreeze properties of the Gen I are renown. I've just gotten back from the garage where I was roasting Chestnuts.

Of course it is cool to ride an FJR in the rain. I recently put in 25 miles in the rain. At 42 degrees. At 80 mph. It was actually safer in the left lane. Passing trucks and water spray sucks.

BTW, in the 40's today and cloudy. Canadians passing through maybe?

You are one crazy guy...riding 25 miles in the rain at 80 mph in 40 degree temps. That's living kinda dangerous...don't you think?

Brand new Michelins, Not raining too hard but steady, don't ride below 40 degrees. Had to get home. FJR was rock steady the whole time. AND, I stayed dry except for tips of the boots and 2 outside fingers on each hand. Oh yeah, and about a 3 inch strip of my pants that were slapping in the wind. Left lane of I-70 that I ride 5 days a week. Crazy? Possibly. Dangerous? Did not feel that way. I did watch other traffic like a hawk. Visibility following others or getting passed was worse due to the spray. 18 tires throw up a bunch of water! Vision sucked. Much better in the left lane.

Picked up on that after the post. Temps dropping here also. Winter is coming ..............

Maybe the ES will get ya there without freezing.

RFH... With the brutal cold and forecasted rain tomorrow,, which could be as close as 4 hours to your departure for home,,, brother, don't chance it!!! I'll get out of bed the couple hours early and pick you up in cage,, as I am driving tomorrow anyway due to conditions...

My friend your concern is touching. And I know that if I really needed it, you would really come get me.

However...

I know that you are probably driving a Ford now and neither of us would be safe. I would rather take my chances with the FJR in a hurricane than ride in your Ford!

Actually, this FJR and I have spent a lot of time in the rain together. We are starting to like it. But I expect to be home and asleep before the rain hits.

Another beautiful day in Paradise here in Kailua Oahu Hawaii!

Five to six inches more snow today. I make it about 28 inches this year in the valley, probably four feet in the high country. Y'all southern brothers, and those in ND, SD, IA, etc, thank us for the water we will store and send you come spring /summer, hopefully not too much again, like in 2011.
