Looks like the snow total from the storm for this area was right around 30". Sheperdstown, WV, right across the river, reported 40.5" I'll be surprised to see any plows in this development today. I'm grateful for the unusually good weather we had for riding in December, but it looks like riding here is over for a while.

The winter weather event has ended for us, today is sunny maybe 40*F. Usually we get sleet mixed with rain that then freezes on everything and tears down power lines, trees, etc. This time was about 2" but all that fell was already frozen, more like snow. I thought I'd be far enough south to miss most of it. Friends in central Virginnie and Germantown, MD (just NW of D.C.) got hammered pretty good.

It's 'effing beautiful and I'm at work. Went on a good dirt bike ride yesterday though:

FWIW, I never made it up that hill and tried three times. First time I ended up in the center of the track and got bogged down. Second time, I don't know what happened, but got bogged down again. Last time, I hit it nearly pinned in 2nd. Made it about half way up with my front wheel barely touching the ground. I let off some to bring the front down, but had to gas it again to prevent it from bogging. My rear hooked up hard and I let off too much. Front wheel turned and I ate ****, going pretty fast. That one hurt, and I'd had enough. Haha...Maybe next time.

Wifey and I joined Mikep and his sweetie for about 100 miles this afternoon. It got to 59 and stayed mostly sunny all day. BION - we stopped for ice cream.

Unseasonably warm here, daffodils are up 4" and my daylilies and crocosmia are sprouting shoots earlier than prudent as well.

Guess I'll break out the flip flops

that makes 2 years in a row for flip flops in January. I am liking this climate change thing

I was beeping my avy receiver today and survived the slide.

It was a chilly 46 at 3:45 am for my RIDE into work. Fortunately I had my summer gloves in the sidecase for the ride home. It was 71. I thought I might have to unzip a vent or two on the jacket but I survived the RIDE home anyway.

Sunscreen today, a real bitching 60 degrees.

4 inches of rain for Friday, with El Nino I believe it will rain that much or more.We have been getting a boat load of water this month. The dams in Nor Cal are rising by the foot, Ca won't admit it but the drought is over this year.

Reached 50 here in the Bannana Belt, but the wind was blowing up to 40. Most of the snow is gone on the roads. Lots of sand, though I'm tempted!

I've never seen it rain in Northern Ontario at the start of February before, but that's what it's doing out right now. -1C
