I knew I could count on you beemerdons to get this thread back on track. I don't think it's only for Kali girls...I think its made for Canuckian girls as well.

Airboss, I'm gonna change the dino oil in Paso Robles Thursday night...rumor has it that there's a WalMart in town.

How often will you need to change the oil on your Duc for this trip?

Um, bad news, Wheaton and A.B. California's gone out of business. It's been closed due to budget cuts. You might want to try Nevada. I think they're still open, and it's closer.

I may be stepping into a wild *** hornet's nest by posting this, and since it's oil related I sincerely hope that this won't throw the thread into NEPRT, but here it goes:

My trip to Nova Scotia/CFR 2011 will consist of at least 7K miles, maybe even 8K miles if yamafitter leads me too far astray in our Cabot Trail and Owosso wanderings!

I intend to make this entire run with a fresh change of Rotella Synthetic and change it out when I get back to Valley of the Blast Furnace. I trust Rotella Syn. up to 8K.

Griff is pre-flighting your FJR for your run and SkooterG is doing a complete service on my Miss Lucy Liu prior to my CA departure! May The Lord Bless and Keep Us!

You can't fool me...you just don't want us to come out there.

But we know better, Illinois is out of money and broke...but they still know how to spend our tax money.

Nice try slick. ;)

Let me see...SkooterG is one of those Wheaton crazies you keep putting down ain't he? ;)

Personally, I like my chances with griff's prep. (Just kidding Greg. Really.)

Yeah, let's all get out there, have fun and get home safely, okay? :clapping:

Nah, he just doesn't want to have to get up early on Saturday morning for breakfast at Alice's... ;)

Since I want to bring along more than a sawed off tooth brush, the Duc stays home this trip.

Now back to oil (we will get this thread to NEPT at some point).

Putting in a nice Motul synthetic blend,That will last till I get back home. Two weeks we aren't going to put the oil though that many heating, cooling cycles.

I know all about Rotella and I'm sure it's perfectly fine to run. I just prefer a motorcycle specific product.

So in keeping the thread on topic airboss, I guess this means no CT for the trip then... :p ;)

Karl and George, I'll mention Motul synthetic to my Mechanic and see what he says! I'm laughing my *** off as I type this, since "my Mechanic" is our Admin SkooterG.

Skooty talked me into switching to Rotella synthetic a long, long time ago. Since I'm a "Certified Old Fart" and a "Creature of Habit" I just stick with Rotella Synthetic.

On topic? Did you say on topic, Jorge? Where the hell do you think you're at G, a BMW Owners Forum? Bejaysus, this is the FJR Forum; we don't believe in that crap!
Really, just how do you turn a little ride to Californica into Thirty pages? Just sayin, :p .

On a side note away from oil if any of you suffers from allergies, bring your favorite meds for the Sierra's. Here at 3K elevation the oak pollen is just starting up and the heavy duty Pine pollen will follow. After our massive winter rains the trees are kicking out the yellow stuff by the ton and will be doing so well into early summer at the higher elevations.

On the other hand Wheatie, things are really green and you should get in on the tail end of the very green spring while your in Northern Ca.

Have Claritin...will travel. I use it for all the corn pollen and spring molds we have around here.

Looking forward to the curvy roads in the green hills!

Like in Northern Mississippi, when the pine tree blooms and the wind blows the sky turns green. That kind of pollen?
